I'm average height but built wide and weight around 230 lbs. That's about half the rated capacity.I chose this chair for the locks which sound stronger than earlier models.So far the locks are working pretty well and the width is good. I don't think the widths in the description are very accurate but if the 29" was a full 4" narrower, it would be a tight fit.I got this to sleep on after an injury and I have to say it's good for sleeping.I wound up moving the "pillow" to my low back for more support and that is working very well for me.Any way, unless you are built narrow, I wouldn't try 29" or narrower. Maybe 29" would work for sitting but I want a bit of wiggle room when I sleep.It's helping me sleep during my recovery so well worth the price.The pad is enough insulation that I just need a blanket on top to remain warm while sleeping.My mattress preference is as firm as possible with a fairly thin pillow top. I don't know if I can say this chair with it's cushion is similar but I can't say it's too squishy or it's not firm enough. It works for me and since the shape of the chair matches standard body contours, it shouldn't need to be squishy to fill in the gaps between your body and your chair so for me it is fine.Any way, I think it is a good alternative for a bed or a cot.

Fully assembled. Easy to open/close. Very sturdy. Comfortable with the included pad.

I've had 2 of these chairs and I liked the chair until it collapsed under me even though I'm well within the weight limit. Thinking it might have been a defect I contacted the company and a replacement was sent right away. Now a few month later the second chair broke and dumped me on my head last night. Don't like it so much now.

Comfortable and good quality.

There are lot's of problems with this product;1) No manufacturing or seller ID anywhere on product/packaging. Nowhere to contact if a problem. There is no Zenpetio seller designation ANYWHERE.2) The reclining lock mechanism is unreliable/wonky, won't last long at all3) The cushion padding is covered by a thin, non-waterproof fabric that would absorb stains and dirt, and easily tear. Not nearly rugged enough for outdoor use.4) The headrest is literally stiff as a board....not soft or comfortable at all.I noticed that the reviews for this product were co-mingled with reviews for a a footrest product so there could be a larger number......seller trying to manipulate Amazon viewers.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

The product is sturdy and doesn't feel flimsy. Was fairly easy to recline. Over night the locking mechanism slipped little by little resulting in feet on the floor instead of reclined.

It’s well made but not as long as discribed. It’s not as padded as expected either. Overcharged when color changed. Back pillow is not sturdy. Might return!!
