Q: My wholewheat bread comes out dense so does brown bread. I follow the recipe. What is going wrong?

Set your machine to RAPID wholemeal setting largest loaf and add these : 360ml water 500g wholemeal bread flour ( or a mix of wholemeal and white) 5g salt 5g sugar 15g vegetable oil 5g easy bake yeast This works in all bread makers and is very nice, a lot better than the multi ingredient recipes

Q: Does this have a seed dispenser? If not would this distribute seeds and fruit evenly through the bread?

Ours has no seed/nut dispenser, but it does prepare the dough, then pause, and beep. If you add the seeds/nuts at this time they will be gently mixed into the dough before baking. Larger seeds (and especially larger nuts) can become crunched if they are put in at the beginning. Walnuts are often crunched if they are put in first, in our experience. Our 48281 has died, sadly - after 24 years regular use. Probably be replaced with the same model! It is more heavily built than many of the more 'modern' ones.

Q: Does it make a sourdough or yeast only?

There are Sourdough recepes available online for use with a breadmaker machine or you should be able to find a book with lots of recipes

Q: Does this bread maker leave a hole in the loaf because of the paddle ?

Yes it does, but it isn't all that big and iff you take the paddle out as soon as the bread comes out of the tin, it seems to fill in and doesn't leave a great crater as a previous breadmaker did!
