Reading comprehension step by step
The 3rd grader I am working with has had considerably bad hearing loss. Hopefully this situation has been rectified. The student reads very well but has very little comprehension. I have learned that being able to hear is necessary for reading comprehension. This book is amazing. It really starts at ground zero for comprehension and slowly builds. The first third of the lessons the student just draws pictures. I believe we are getting ready for more reading in the lessons now. It is hard to explain, but at this point, I feel the book is a miracle worker. So thankful I purchased it.

Awesome Resource For Unique Minds
As an adult that struggled with special needs and accommodations in school, this book put into words what I could never explain as my learning style. Many times, neuro-atypical people have the main idea and intuition down, but have the biggest struggle with identifying the steps and details. This is the case with just about all of my students that I tutor. This book is great for kids and teens that deal with ADHD, autism spectrum, and specific learning disabilities to practice the important patterns and structure found in language arts. You might even learn something new about yourself while you're at it!
