Q: Help, I am trying calibarate scale and it flashes 20.000 and never flashes 40.000. Flashes 20.000 about 50 times, err appears, goes back to 0.000

When it flashes 20.000 put up a 20g weight and it will then flash 40.000 you'll then put up the second 20g weight, it will then show PASS

Q: Does this also measure to the .001grain as well?

Keep in mind that in all digital systems the last digit is + or - 0.5. This is because you can't see the following digit and know what it is. The same is true for any last digit say "6" is the last number then that means that the measurement (x.xx6) is between x.xx55 and x.xx65 because use can't see the next digit. So trying to read 0.001 means you have a very large error the value could be 0.0015 or as low as 0.0055. That error is something between 0 and + or - 50% . Hope this helps.

Yes, mine registers much smaller weight. Mine will register by 0.002 grams. (2 one thousandths of a gram.)
