Frigidaire FFEC3024LB 30" Electric Cooktop, Black, 30 inches

This is our second one. The first one worked great. It was about 10 years old. It met its match when something was dropped on it breaking the glass. We had it that way for a long time. There were some good improvements made. Self centering springs on the edges to position the cooktop in the cutout. I was able to remove the ones I had created at the corners to keep it centered. They were stapled in pieces of wood. The biggest improvement is the addition of brackets that install at the right and left sides, centerline. You have to mount the bracket into the counter. It is important to get the sixteenth inch gap at the top of the bracket or the glass wont seat flush with the counter. My counter is 'corean' (sp?) and didn't have enough thickness to give me good distance to the edge. I used a dremmel and removed metal toward the rop edge to let the screw be where it needed to be. Works great.

This item works extremely well Much better than my last flat electric cooktop of the same manufacturer. However, it is very difficult to keep clean. It smears very easily. So far, I have found that Windex works best if there is no stubborn spot. If so, then Soft Scrub or Ceramabrite work well. A bit of a chore; but, worth it.

Truly excellent value! Stand alone stoves seem out of date and beyond ugly in a small kitchen, but these cook tops are sleek and extremely efficient; almost as responsive as gas. My first one was white, and lasted well over 15 years, still looking like new even after having renters in the condo after I moved to a new location. It's important to know that this black cook top does NOT come with a plug. Depending on your own power source for stove hookup, you will need to buy and/or have an electrician install the connection. I needed a three prong male plug for connection to an available female three hole socket. Also, if you plan to install over a kitchen cabinet, you'll need to know that the underside of the cooktop will be too tight, and it will be necessary to cut away on three sides at the top of your cabinet. Will fit just fine in a 30" wide opening between counters, though you'll want/need to support the front and back somehow. The knobs are excellent ~~ large, easy to read, and with definitive clicks for positions. The burners light up immediately and regulate fast with each adjustment; also cool fairly quickly after use. For the price, it would hard to beat this model of Frigidaire Cooktop ~~!! The Black colour is stunning when trimmed with black marble.

We were looking for Electric Cooktop to get rid with a very difficult to clean electric coil type. First we saw this Frigidaire FFEC3024LB 30 Electric Cooktop - Black from Menards and other similar type from other stores but found them out of budget. We tried from Amazon and found it $200.00 cheaper. So we placed an order and it arrived 3 or 5 days later. I was able to install it by myself in just few minutes and it works good. My wife is so proud having this unit and makes her happier in cooking as well as cleaning.

This stove top is beautiful & it was not difficult to install. No professional installer needed. The measurements were accurate and the stove top was securely packed. It came with a manual and cleaning solution. The range works perfectly and I am so glad that it was able to get delivered waiting 2 days! I've been using this stove top for two weeks now and have worked it hard for at least two large family gatherings.

We are really disappointed with this thing. Its very hard to keep clean and the burners do not have variable heat making it hard to maintain a constant temperature. My wife hates it because it does this. Told her sorry, my fault. The burners just cycle to max heat off and on to what heat setting you have it on. It does not vary the current through the burner and maintain that heat. Silly me for thinking it would heat like our old cheap electric stove top did for 20 years. As a result, Your food is constantly overheating and under heating as a result. I wish I had read the reviews better. Its a pain in the rear to keep clean. You have to constantly keep cleaning it and don;t put it off for even one day. Once it spills onto the burner while its cooking, it burns it on. Someone said they wipe any spills up as they are cooking, Oh my, what a hassle. And Yes, we have tried every cleaner mentioned in the reviews to use. We end up having to use a Razor Blade to clean all the time. While the 2 big burners get hot enough, the smaller 2 burners, that fit most of your pans better, do not. UPDATE! 11-30-14 Unfortunately, this thing just kept bugging us too much the way it heated up and down and having to clean it all the time. We were able to sell it at a garage sell for a loss at $200. The customer got a good deal and was able to to actually see the stove in use before buying. We have since bought and installed a Frigidaire FFGC3625LB 36" Gas Cook top for a little under $600. This was a real hassle and work to install. Even though our house has gas, there was never a gas line run for the kitchen stove. Took me a couple of days to figure out how to run the flexible stainless line down the walls without tearing everything up.I paid a licensed plumber a min charge to make sure I did it right. So add another $200 for gas line and install. Much more then the original stove top. Even with the added expense and headache to install, we are EXTREMELY happy now with this gas stove top! Beautiful looking, with perfect and instant control of heat. So much easy to clean. This turned out to be a huge difference to us. There is also propane stove tops for people who do not have gas.

Our original cooktop went bad and I needed a replacement. I din't want to spend a lot money but was looking for a good unit. I have had this installed for about 6 months and have had no problems. Unit looks good and works well. It was necessary to make the hole in the counter top a little larger for this unit to work but I assume no two cooktops are the exact dimension. Satisfied!
