meross Smart WiFi Garage Door Opener Remote, App Control, Works with Alexa, Google Assistant and SmartThings, No Hub Needed（Non HomeKit Versions）

I have an old Liftmaster garage door opener from the early 2000's. It is not smart, and can't connect to wifi. I was looking for a way to be able to control it from my phone, particularly through Apple HomeKit. THIS is the solution! It's compatible with TONS of different brands and models, and you can check which brands on the Meross website. I've used other Meross products before (smart plugs, thermostat, etc), and I've never had a bad experience with any of their products. Like all Meross products, their garage door opener checks all the boxes: Reliable wifi that never drops connection, small and never gets in the way, premium quality, and easy to install and use. This product plugs into a power outlet for power (no batteries), and in my garage the outlet was a bit far away from the unit, so I had to run an extension cord, but it was no problem at all. Setup may seem challenging at first, but it's actually pretty simple. I have ZERO electrical or wiring knowledge and I was able to get this fully installed and operational in about 20 minutes. The Meross app is super helpful in the setup process. It shows step by step instructions in clear English with pictures! That was very helpful in knowing which ports to plug the wires into from the device into the Liftmaster. See attached pics for where I plugged in the wires in mine, but of course every garage door opener is different. And of course, the HomeKit paired quickly and works like a dream. I have a HomePod Mini to act as my Home Hub, so I can even control my garage door and monitor its status (is it open or closed) even when I am away from home. It also works with CarPlay, so I can now finally control my garage from my car's touch screen with CarPlay. My car does not have a HomeLink button built into the car. I even set it up with an automation, so as soon as I drive away from home it closes my garage, and when I pull up to my house it opens the garage. I do want to mention, I am personally using this with HomeKit, but I believe it works with Alexa, and Google Home as well. And you actually don't need any of those three, because you can also control it from the Meross app directly, which actually is a very solid app itself. This product is quite literally life changing, and makes my quality of life so much easier. Using this Meross product is so much more secure since I can monitor and control my garage from anywhere. Plus, I no longer am having to change the batteries in that old-school clicker every 2 months. In fact, I don't even keep that thing in my car anymore! Overall, it's a fantastic product and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to make their older garage door "smart".

NOTICE: IF YOU WISH TO USE THIS SMART GARAGE DOOR OPENER WITH APPLE HOMEKIT YOU MUST HAVE A HUB EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS IT IS HUB-LESS IN THE OPENING BANNER. If you are comfortable using the device with the Meross app it works well without a hub and has excellent functionality. The adapter for my Chamberlain garage door opener is simply a wireless remote to which the smart garage door opener is attached. This allows a lot of discretion as to where to place the smart garage door opener since it does not have to be directly attached to the garage door opening machinery. It also means the device does not interfere with any of the existing wireless remotes or buttons in the garage. It comes with a wired sensor which detects whether the door is in the closed or open position allowing the app to notify you when the door is opened or closed or if the door is left open. You can set the time to receive notifications about the status of the door. The setup of the device is relatively simple and was easily done in about 20 minutes. The app connected quickly to the hardware by following the directions with care. In trying to make the device work with Apple HomeKit without a hub, I attempted a workaround using Google Assistant and a shortcut allowing me to call the smart garage door opener using Siri; however, Google Assistant requires a four digit pin which necessitated opening the phone anyway so it did not save anytime. Adding a widget for the Meross garage door opener on the home screen of the iPhone was the best alternative for opening the garage door as quickly as possible. Overall, I recommend this smart garage door opener with the caveat that it needs a hub for use with HomeKit.

I bought this garage door opener because I have three doors and wanted something that came as one unit rather than having three separate controls, one for each door. This opener worked like a charm and was very simple to install. The unit works on a huge number of garage door openers. When I was trying to decide if it would work on mine, I was a little frustrated as there was no list showing which openers it would work with but once I got the product, downloaded the APP and saw the vast selection of openers it was compatible with, I could see why. There are just TOO many to list in the description on the web page! To install the product, you'll need to download the Meross APP first, create an account and then it will walk you through the steps to install the unit, route and connect the wiring, etc. At first, the APP can seem a bit cumbersome when trying to get it to work but it's not difficult at all, once you follow the proper steps in the instructions. There are no fees or subscriptions needed as the APP is free; I like free! With the APP, there are a lot of features you can use to control your garage doors, you can set them up to close at a certain time, get notifications when a door is opened, you can view a record of openings and closings, etc. You can even check the APP and at a glance, see if your doors are open or closed, very nice feature! And of course, the opener works seamlessly with other smart control devices, even multiple ones if you have more than one which you use. I have Alexa as my main control device at home, but I also have Siri on my phone, and I can open or close the doors with either one. If you have the Alexa app on your phone, you can control them with it as well. If you're in your vehicle and don't have the Alexa app or have it listening, you can just tell Siri to open (or close) your garage door. I really love all of this functionality! And you can control the doors from anywhere as long as you have a Wi-Fi signal. Again, just check the Meross APP to see whether they are open or closed. A couple of things I want to mention, one is, this controller only comes with wiring for two doors but it can be used on three doors. This is noted in the description so it's no big deal but, I needed the third set of wiring and had to research it to figure out the right thing to order. Meross, you need to either list that third wiring set in the description for this product or put a link to it on the product page. Secondly, I reached out to Meross customer service, not for a problem, but to ask a technical question and I received a very fast response from Lydia. Her response was concise and easily understood, answering my question exactly, leaving no doubt in my mind about what I was asking - great job! Overall, I highly recommend this product if you're wanting to upgrade and have the ability to control your garage doors other than with switches or remotes. With the Meross APP, you don't need anything else to have that full control over your doors but having the other smart control options is nice as well. I like the product so much, I've already ordered another one to use with the two large garage doors on my workshop. For the money and the features you get, this product is a great value! d this long before I got them!

Ich habe mir das Teil für mein 13 Jahre altes Hörmanntor gekauft und es funktioniert einwandfrei. Das Gerät war schon in der Apple Home App sichtbar bevor ich die Meross App installiert hatte. Also musste ich es erst wieder löschen und neu einbinden. Dann sind die nächsten Schritte auch einfacher es in die Alexa App einzugeben. Strom habe ich über vorher montierte Steckdose mit USB Anschluss verbunden. Ich hatte keine Lust auf den dicken Stecker. Kabel wurde einfach verlegt und die beiden Magnete wurden zusätzlich mit der Heißklebepistole gesichert. Bei der Gelegenheit habe ich noch eine zusätzliche E27 Fassung für eine HUE Lampe in die Steckdose gesteckt und in der Alexa App eine Routine angeboten. Licht an wenn Tor öffnet und Licht aus wenn Tor schließt. Fazit: Tor lässt sich per Sprachbefehl über Alexa oder Siri zu Hause steuern. Manuel auch in der Alexa App, Home App von Apple oder in der Meross App. Von unterwegs geht es aktuell nur über die Alexa App. In CarPlay funktioniert es nur, wenn man zu Hause auch eine Apple TV Box oder einen iPod Home Hub oder HomePod mini besitzt. Ohne eines dieser Geräte wird in der CarPlay App zwar das Garagentor angezeigt, funktioniert aber nicht.

Ich nutze den Meross Garagentoröffner und bin rundum zufrieden. Die Installation war wirklich unkompliziert, alles wurde in der App super erklärt und Schritt für Schritt geführt – da kommt man auch ohne Technikkenntnisse definitiv zurecht. Besonders begeistert bin ich von der HomeKit-Integration. Ich kann mein Garagentor jetzt bequem per Sprachbefehl steuern, bekomme Benachrichtigungen, wenn es geöffnet oder geschlossen wird, und sehe jederzeit den aktuellen Status. In der Meross App kann man natürlich auch das Tor steuern, sowie Öffnungzeiten und Alarme für ein offen stehendes Tor einstellen. Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt: Der Reed-Kontakt ist etwas fummelig am Garagentor zu befestigen. Mit etwas Fummeln klappt’s aber auch. Insgesamt ein super Gerät – klare Empfehlung für alle, die ihr Garagentor smart machen wollen, vor allem mit Home-Kit Integration.
