Artists binders in general are great; but bright steel ones are the best because you can use them to clamp items for gluing without worrying that some of the paint might get stuck to the glued item. Super-useful for clamping-gluing pretty much anything it can grab!

It's a binder clip! So, yea it works fine. I was disappointed to find the main clip to be nickel silver plating over spring steel. To be fair the description said "silver" not stainless and listed it as rust resistant rather than rust proof. I am excited to try them with our Sous Vide set-up. Regular (black) binder clips work well, but rust almost the instant hot water vapor touches them. Not a problem for our food as it is always inside a sealed bag, but does not leave an appetizing appearance. I suspect that the stainless steel with the properties to be a spring is quite rare and expensive and the vendor settled on the nickel plating as a good approximation. We just received them so all I can say is I hope that the plating lasts for quite a while. We've only used them a time or two at this point. On the other hand the package was relatively inexpensive and contains several so we have plenty to work with. for some time.

I love these things. I knew I needed some of these clamps because if there is one or two in the house, they are in use. The old ugly black ones. I don't work in an office environement so I don't have an easy "source" to take them for granted. But this size turns out to be the near perfect size for just about anything including those with fat meaty hands. I trust the clamp strength and have never seen one break. The silver looks really cool too.

These clips mean business! They are nice and sturdy. I use them to create a poor mans dutch oven with 2 bread loaf pans.
