Love it, although have to watch the sodium content so use less than recommended. However, it has an excellent flavor so I use it when cooking brown rice, soups and etc... If you love the Tamarind flavor you are on the right track. Anyone that love the Vietnamese flavors would certainly love this. Would recommend to anyone contemplating buying this product.

Wanted something similar to the Filipino sour soup base that didn't have shellfish or pork in it. This was by far the best option in terms of tastes and texture. Also, try adding a bit of this to something like tomato soup. I tried it to break up the sweetness of it and it was delicious.

Received two Tamarind Soup Base, but one of them has gone bad. The good one is dry and has an orange color, the other is dark brown and is leaking oil everywhere. Either it was wet or it was not packaged correctly. I will be returning and requesting refund for that one.

Very Nice Taste - I'm using it as one would use as a "Bouillon Cube" ..... So placed less than a teaspoon in 8 ounces of steaming hot water with a few cooked veggies, bean sprouts etc and I instantly had a nice, warm cup of broth.

An excellent soup base! Use it to cook traditional 'canh chua,' and it tastes incredible!

The product was excellent- super fresh . 4 stars rather than five only cuz 7.50 high price for product made right here in u.s. . for those who are not familiar with this product it is very concentrated powdered broth base ...one container makes about 2 gallons of broth. Since I simply drink it plain , by the cup , it is an affordable alternative to teas , coffee , sweet drinks ... This is a sour ( tamararind ) mildly hot beverage . It has no artificial any thing , is vegan and is marvelous for the many months of damp chilly weather the pacific NW offers . yes, indeed , hot cocoa is a wonderful thing , so are heated cider or apple juice , but this has maybe 25 calories per cup .

not the same flavor as knorr or sarap brand....the secret weapon to my many fabulous dishes. unfortunately I can't find them locally. used to get the single packages for 59cents even 3 for a dollar/bummer. I will try the dragonfly brand next from amazon.
