how are these different from the GHS L3075 brite flat flat wounds?

The outermost winding of a pressurewound string starts out round, and after it is passed between rollers, comes out oval (in cross section). Then it's wrapped around the string's core lined up side by side like a bunch of zeroes lying on their sides (if you could cut the finished string lengthwise. GHS's brite flats are not really flat wounds (which have a metal ribbon as the outer layer). Their Brite Flats are actually "ground wound" or "half rounds". The outer winding is ground down part way to create a partially flat outer surface. I've used both and they both reduce finger noise (my motive for using them). Ground wound a.k.a. half rounds are smoother than pressure wounds and thus reduce finger noise more so. However, the pressure wounds sound more like usual round wounds. Going from brightest sounding to warmest I would list them as: round wounds - pressure wounds - GHS Brite Flats (ground wounds) - D'Addario Half Rounds (ground wounds) - flat wounds.
