It makes a weird whine when my automatic pet water bowl is filling up, but that's probably because the flow is low. No noise when the hose is running through the Y I attached after it.

Made sounds from it that echoed into the house plumbing. If you shut water off, stand back quickly will get your shoes wet. But overall, worked well. Took it off later mainly because of the sounds.

It is a back flow preventer. That means it does not allow back flow. If it leaked it would not be a back glow preventer.

Bought two, one front front hose bib and one for back hose bib. The front one chugs so bad it shakes the house through the plumbing, and the back one squeals so loud at such a high pitch it would wake the dead. Took both of them off immediately and am returning them. Solid brass outside, but the plastic and rubber washers inside are low quality or poor fit. The connection did not leak, but the noise and shaking were intolerable.

Extremely easy to install you just screw it on. My hose and adapter fit great onto it. It’s a beautiful brass color and feels well made. No leakage outside of the already damaged faucet; works great. For those that don’t know this is what these bibs are: “prevent backflow, which is when water flows backward into the plumbing system.“ Basically a nice to have thing. I bought and put one on cause the previous owners had one and god knows why so I just matched it.

It seems to be doing what it is supposed to do. It does make some funny noises in the house as the water pressure rises and falls, but that might just be my pipes.

At first, I connected one of these to the outside hose connection that goes to dual water filters to remove chlorine. What I noticed is that when we used the cold water in the kitchen sink, it would cause this to pop water out of it, which I guess is by design. The actual problem is that the outside hose pipe is connected directly to the kitchen cold water pipe. So any back pressure there causes the valve to open and close. But this isn't an issue with this one-way valve. When I put the 2nd one at the other end of the house, there was no issue.
