Having a Older Property, the Cavity wall vent boxes were plywood, one was well rotten on the weather side,so replacing with plastic eliminated a musty smell.The flexibility of the inter-joining parts gave me the ability to fix in position tight against the covering vent grilles, stopping any rain ingress.
