The slide and ride is a simple contraption, but performs well as designed, described and manufactured. Relatively expensive, but well-made, sturdy and simple. I was able to stand and pivot my non-ambulatory mother, sit her on the slide & ride, and then slide her in. Having to do it without it would have been more difficult and stressful (this breaks down the process of getting her into the car into separate steps). I was nervous about using it, but was very pleased to have it. The physical therapist was pretty impressed with it, she had never seen it.

Excellent device for assist us to transfer our mother from her wheel chair to the front car seat. Like the way the height of the slider is adjustable.Some difficulty moving her legs from the side of the slider to the front of the slider. Right front corner would be better if rounded. Also some difficulty moving from the seat back to the slider do primarily to the shape of the front seat cushion.Love the way the device is mobile and folfs for transport snd storage. Very durable and safe.

Unless you have the perfect car with the perfect fit for this device forget it. I tried 3 different cars at different levels and adjustments and couldn't use it even once. It's a great concept but didn't fit a full size Buick, Lexus or Lexus SUV. Great idea, limited use.

The seat is easy to put the legs up and down and adjust the height. The product material is quality made. The problem: it simply doesn't fit many cars. The Ford Fusion and Toyota Pruis were VERY unstable. The front legs did not have an even place to sit which made it very wobbly. I feared that mom would fall off. Even in these smaller cars the seats do NOT line up. Mom was not capable of lifting herself up to get onto the car seat. There also was not enough room for mom to swing her legs around between the seat and the car door in order to get into the car. In the right car I'm sure it would be a great help if it sits right to make it stable.

Solid, safe tool for transferring for wheel chair to car seat. It is slightly too short for our car. Have had to come up with a work around.

My elderly mother is in a wheel chair, and we are moving her into our home. That means we will need to be able to get her into and out of a vehicle periodically. Our mini-van is too high for her, and my car is too low for her. I spotted this Slide 'n Ride and thought I'd give it a try. It completely exceeded my expectations. First, it is far sturdier than I expected. The legs have great stops and slide in and out easily. It is made of thick metal, and I can't imagine it ever failing. The best part is that my mother can easily get in and out of our mini van using this. We help her stand up from the wheelchair, pivot slightly, and sit on the Slide 'n Ride. Then she just slides across into the seat. Way, way, way easier than trying get to the seat directly. I highly, highly recommend this if you are in a similar situation.

While I commend the overall concept, and the ease of use, I’m questioning the construction itself. There’s several cold shuts to be found on the legs, and while I’m uncertain if they are enough to cause any issues with the use, it does raise questions. Each photo attached you will see these cold shuts (or cracks if you prefer) at critical junctures of the legs. I’ll wind up rewelding or fabricating replacements in due time, but that’s only because I’ve got the knowledge and equipment to do so. If you don’t have the knowledge or equipment access, and see these in your own product, return it, and don’t take that unnecessary risk.

It had become very difficult for us to transfer my 96 year old aunt from her wheelchair to the car. She has dementia and doesn’t stand without assistance. My husband found this product and we decided to give it a try. The day after we placed the order, we received a call from Matt, a vendor representative. He wanted to first make sure it would work in our cars so we wouldn’t have to return it for that reason. We gave him the make and model of our two cars and within a couple of hours he confirmed, with pictures, that it would work with our 2018 Subaru Outback, but not the SUV. We continued with the order and have used it several times. It has reduced our level of frustration during the transfer process and we have referred it to others who have seen us using it. We are very impressed with the product as well as the great customer service we received from the vendor.
