Exactly what I needed!
This product may have negative reviews, but is is because they don't know what they are buying. For communicating with rs-485 over cat6 (in my case), this is EXACTLY what you need. The driver files on the disk were confusing, but if you know your way around device manager you'll figure it out. Once I got my computer to see this as a COM port. I was communicating no problem. Great product!

It works.
This is not a USB to Ethernet. But what it does is let the comm port communicate with a controller of sorts. I use it with a laptop to control DSP on some line array speakers. It’s been flawless so far

Mine came in dead.

Worked.
Simple part that works. Driver instructions are nonexistent. Newest driver designed for Win7. Works with my WIN11. Used a standard LAN cable to bridge to an RS485 device.

5v only! Smoked on first use.
Uses a SP485 which only supports 5 volts. I don't know if it works with 5 volts or not because it smoked on first use, but based on other reviews it probably does.

USB to RS485 ADAPTER!!!
This is such a hard item to find. No, it is not an Ethernet adapter. No, it is not an RS232 adapter. It is a USB to RS485 adapter. Thank you, please never stop selling it. Works great. Shows up as /dev/ttyUSB0 on my Linux. :)

Working great in OpenBSD 6.6
Awesome product. Works perfectly. RJ45 pin1: TX+ pin2: TX- pin3: RX+ pin6: RX- pin8: GND This is a full duplex adapter. If you need to connect to a half duplex system (as I did) you need to connect both the TX+ and RX+ (pin1&pin3) to your D+ and both the TX- and RX- (pin2&pin6) to your D-.

Seems good
It didn't work for my application but it did come with what you would need for other applications. I was using it to connect to Light O Rama which is particular on the hardware.
