so convienent
Just moved into an apartment after downsizing (empty nester) and left my ice making fridge with the house I sold. Totally forgot the inconvienece of apartments NOT having fridges with Ice makers. WTH? Oh well (eye rolls).I have always found the traditional little ice trays annoying and cumbersome - and again, ANNOYING!Years ago I rented and would buy probably 4 bags of ice a week - and at anywhere from $1.50 to 2.50 a 7lb (lets average that to $2.00 a bag)… that's $8.00 a week in Ice... $8 a week times 52 weeks = $416 a freaking YEAR!! in ICE!!! Wish I had done that math then and knew this sort of machine even existed!! I did this for 5 years!! Im totally kicking myself now and totally not - NOT doing that math - ugh, I did and now I have to acknowledge Im just a stupid person. This is really a neat machine. The ice is SMALL - yeah, it says you can have 'small', or 'large' size, but the LARGE size is still tiny. BUT - I can easily turn this on for the evening and before bed have several pounds of ice!Questions I had when I bought it....* tabletop machine, does not hook up to any direct water source. You pour the water into the trough and then it pulls from that source* How do you drain? Under the front end of the machine is a plug, much like a swimming pool float - only its a heavy duty plastic plug. I just fumble around and feel the location of the hole and either pull the plug or close it. Water drains fast. I recommend so that it dries machine guts out while you aren't making ice.**** Recommendation: when you drain it and leave it to dry out for a night, leave it over the corner of the sink, so that way when you go to push it out of the way, you also remember to plug it back up. I have had water all over the counter because I forgot to replug it after letting it dry out. Leaving it over the sink reminds you that it had been draining/drying.Totally recommend!!! A great purchase!

Nice Littel device
I bought this ice maker because I dislike tasting my drinking water. I was making my ice with the reverse osmosis water from the sink, I still could taste metal. Now, with this maker I use bottled water and taste nothing in my drinking water. The reservoir holds about 2 16 oz. bottles of water. I leave it on all the time and the maker turns itself on and off, I just keep an eye on the water level. When the ice melts the water drips right back into the reservoir. If you plan a party this maker will not keep up, but for one or two it's great. I highly recommend this maker for one or two, but not for a family. As for continuing making ice to bag, not really. Consider this a personal ice maker. The counter foot print is pretty big. Its as big as my Keurig, the largest. Cleaning the maker is a snap too, however, if the plug on the bottom fails it won't hold water in the reservoir. I'm spoiled now, and plan to take it with me in the RV, for personal use, not for cooler ice. I have the SS model, it looks great.

Makes Ice
The media could not be loaded. It does its job. This model doesn’t have a clean cycle and it’s very difficult to get into the spots to clean it and it’s pretty heavy. It is not silent as it states (the hum of a dishwasher or other appliance). It does make ice (small and large size of the best style cubes) and you can get a cupful in the 7 minutes. Full basket takes like an hr. The size is nice for small counters. It’s attractive with the stainless steel.

Great countertop ice maker with included removable ice bucket.
Great countertop ice maker with included removable ice bucket. The ice scoop that came came with it was very small so I bought another one at the store for $1. Well worth the money! Our whole family loves it! It's not very noisy although you can hear it running and of course the ice dumping. Because it isn't a freezer the I've stays soft enough to eat. We have a lot of calcium in our well water so I buy a gallon of purified water to fill it but since the tank is fairly large I don't even do that every day. No more running out of ice! It also cuts on/off easily so if we're going out of town for the weekend we just cut it off.

Does Not Make Ice Properly
I purchased a different Igloo model in 2017 and it worked perfectly for 2 years then finally stopped making ice. I had not purchased an extended warranty so I had to replace it. The 2017 Igloo model was no longer available and this one was supposed to be a “Top of the Line” replacement. This model is a big disappointment! This ice maker has been giving me problems since day 1. Some of the problems I experienced include: (1) the Sensor did not function properly. For example, once the basket is partially full ice stops being made even though it’s not close to being full. Then there are times when the basket will over-fill and keep filling to the point where the ice almost pops the lid open. While this ice maker does make ice very quickly, it also has a terrible sensor that constantly stays lit up even after you empty out the ice bin. It's so bad that it even stays lit up when you unplug and re-plug the unit power plug back in. Basically power cycling does not always fix the issue. I have had this issue pretty much immediately since day one of buying this ice maker. Another sensor issue occurs when the basket is full of ice and there is plenty of water in the reservoir. All the lights on the LED Panel would light up and flash. To me that means I need to add water, the ice basket is full, small and large cubes were made and the power needs to be turned off then back on. I would have to reset the machine by turning it off for 3 minutes then turn it back on. The machine would stop working and display the message to add water when the reservoir is full and would not make ice, (2) Next issue is the type and density of the ice cubes. First and foremost the basket is too small. The ice maker is supposed to make two different sizes of ice (small & large), but honestly you can't tell the difference. Also, the resulting ice seems to be decreasing in size the more I use it. Ice starts melting right after it drops. The ice is not frozen as hard as that made by our refrigerator but more like what comes out of a commercial ice maker. Actually, you have to dump the ice that is made quickly or the bullets melt. It doesn’t let you know when you need to add water even though there is a light on the panel that lights up to let you know to add water. As long as I remember to empty the basket often it will do the job. It just doesn't make good ice, it usually makes uneven bullets, some are small, some large, even when set on large ice. Nothing in the manual to help me with this issue. I didn’t return the ice maker immediately because I wanted to make sure that I did all the “Trouble-Shooting” suggested in the manual. I would clear out the ice bucket every hour or so anyway and didn't mind unplugging the unit for a minute or so to provide a power cycle and this was working fine for me. Now the LED Panel is starting to stay lit up even though the ice bucket is empty. I can’t get the ice maker to function properly so I now have no choice but to return the product to the manufacturer per instructions. The good news is that it’s cute, compact, makes ice fast, and it’s relatively quiet. Very disappointed considering all the 5 star reviews. I didn't buy an extended warranty and that is on me. I wanted to share this review so that potential buyers would be aware of potential issues that may occur with the icemaker.
