Good product, great support
The lights install easily and have excellent cable length, brightness, and the remote works very well. Then these lights stopped working on my install with no notice. I contacted their support and they had me make a small video outlining the issue and send it to them. Without hesitation, they sent a replacement part and it lit my system back up perfectly. Im leaving the 5 starts because a products review should also include the way a company handles an issue such as the one above, and they did a 5 star job with it. Good product, great company.

Crisp Clean Glow that will make people stare!!
Arrival: I received this kit in a timely fashion, it was delivered on time (2-days with prime membership). It came nicely packed in an amazon box with sufficient packaging air bags which ensured safe travels. Kit itself came in its own retail box that had two separate boxes inside where all the components were separated. One box had the lights, remotes, batteries, receiver. While the other box had all the extension cables, zip ties, light mount brackets. Installation: This kit offers two way of installation it can be set up to plug straight into a cigarette litter or it can be hard wired into a fuse box for a hidden cord clean look. I first tested all the LED strips using the cigarette rout to ensure that everything worked before I spent my time installing everything. I drive a 2001 Ford Windstar (Minivan) I installed two of the strips up front under the steering wheel control housing, and under the glove box housing. Each LED strip has an adhesive strip on the back to allow for easy installation however I live in North Dakota and when I received my kit I was excited to install it and at the time our high for the day was a whopping -10 F. Im sure I could have used the adhesive back and been just fine, but i wanted to play it safe just in case it was to cold so i used the included zip ties and mounting brackets to install my lights and it work flawlessly. Depending on how well they stay installed if I have to I can go back when it warms up and install them using the adhesive strips if i please. I installed the last two strips under my driver and passenger seat in the back of my van and they look amazing. As I mentioned this kit includes a fuse splicing wire that allows you to connect the kit straight into the vehicle that will allow it to turn on and off with your vehicle. I tried to connect mine using the fuse panel but i was not have much luck at the time. After trying a couple different fuse location with no luck I quit trying due to the fact as i mentioned it was -10F up here in North Dakota. When it warms up I do plan to try and hook it up to my fuse panel when I'm able to last more than 5 minutes outside with out having to go in and warm up my hands. So i have it installed using the cigarette lighter with all my cords and head unit ran behind my stereo so its still fairly clean looking. Also when it warms up later this spring or summer I plan to run all of my cord under my carpet I did the same thing when I installed my sub-woofers ( two 12" subs) and it is fairly easy if you have the time. Remotes: Two remotes were included in the kit one remove is about the size of a credit card that has all of the colors on it and easy to switch between each one, along with the setting to either breath through all of the colors or use the music setting to all the colors to beat to the tune of the song. the second remote is a keychain style that has four buttons on it one turns it on and off, the second one adjusts the brightness of the light, the third controls what color is being displayed, and the fourth switches between color mode, breath mode, and color mode. The mini screwdriver that came with to put the battery in the remote was a bit too small, i used my own screwdriver that i had which was a little bigger and made it much easier to get the tiny screws out and back in. The Quality: The quality of these lights are amazing, lit comes with everything you need to install it yourself. The lights are crisp and clean and offer a stunning glow. I nice feature is that you can control the overall brightness of the lights so they don't distract you when driving down the highway. Summary: These lights are awesome and met my expectation all the way. I've only had them for a few days and everyone who has seen them has asked me where I got them and were amazed with how easy and clean they looked. This OPT7 kit definitely make your vehicle stand out from the rest just be prepared for people to ask you questions about them because your vehicle will be the talk of the group.

If my next car doesn't have ambient lighting, I'm getting it again!
I bought these for the footwells in my 2007 Honda Accord. Installation was a breeze - I opted for the fuse tap option instead of the cig lighter plug, running the cables underneath plastic trim panels and mounting the LED strips so you can't see them or their cables. "stealth", as some would say... My hope was to install the kit in such a way that someone whose never been in a 07' Accord before might either not notice the ambient lighting or simply think "hmm... who would have think that would be a stock option on a 9 year old car...". That is, of course, only applicable if you're not using strobe mode... LED strips: the strips themselves are well put-together, and of a good quality. The adhesive backing is superb. I would buy these again for other projects if they just have the strips available for sale... LED strip extensions: The extension cables provided by OPT7 are plenty long enough to mount the strips pretty much wherever you want, and that includes the extra length needed to fish them under plastic trim panels to get there. Use some of the zip ties they provide to secure the cables so they don't rattle around, and to secure the extra cabling you're probably going to have left over from the lines leading to the front footwells. Light quality: the light is a nice even ambient light - exactly what I wanted. The brightness adjustability is nice for cruising on an empty highway since you can tone it down. Door-assist feature: the idea of this feature is that the LED controller has a second power line that goes to something that turns on with the door courtesy lights. The LED strips turn on *white* with the doors open! This is pretty cool, and certainly a welcomed feature. However, it turns out that the main power line has to be on to power the LED strips for it to work. In other words, if your fuse tap or cigarette lighter turns on with the ignition, the door-assist feature won't work unless the ignition is on - the second power line is just a sensor and won't power the strips on. *THAT BEING SAID*, if you really want the door-assist white light to come on with the doors even if the ignition power is off, you could make a little harness with some relays (I may do this myself). I ended up fishing the second power line up above the headliner to wire it directly to the dome light - this makes the door-assist turn the LED's white when the dome is on whether the doors are open or you manually turned the dome on (useful for disabling the feature if you're at a drive-in?) You can see the effect of this in the video I'm including in this review. Remote controls: This kit actually comes with two (2) *different* remote controls. One is a controller with something like 24 buttons on it that gives you full control over the LED's color, fading, strobe, etc... The other controller is a 4-button "quick remote" that gives you ready access to the most common features like ON/OFF, brightness, color, and sound-mode. The 4-button remote is perfect to use without having to look down at the remote if you're on the road. Sound-activated: For when you want your car to be a rave, beating the photons out with the beat of your "sweet jams". It's a neat feature, but I don't use it much because its too "strobe-y" for my taste. If you plan on using this feature, you want to make sure you mount the controller either near a speaker or mounted to the same panel as a speaker, and that's just so you can tweak the sensitivity so its activated by the beat of the music and not the beat of the poorly maintained side roads in your New England town.... There are instructions on their website to adjust the sensitivity of the unit, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Overall, this is an excellent kit for adding a nice "premium" feature to your older or base-model car. Installation is easy, the hardware is of a good quality, and if you're not sure if you want ambient lighting $45 is a great deal to try it out!

LEDs are high quality and are enclosed in a plastic case so they won't get damaged easily. The kit comes with everything you nee
Read this if you plan to use the Aux power wire for Door Assist feature!!! Installed in my 2014 Honda Civic SI This kit is very clean. LEDs are high quality and are enclosed in a plastic case so they won't get damaged easily. The kit comes with everything you need to install. Wires are plenty long, I had to more than enough and actually ended up zip tying most of them in a bundle to keep it clean. Lights are bright and the remote works well. Installation was pretty easy if you plan ahead but I had some issues with getting the aux "Door Assist" feature to work. More on that below. I used zip ties to install the strips so cannot comment on the adhesive backing that comes with them. Overall this is a very good kit. I only give it 4-stars due to some minor issues stated below: 1) The mini-ATM low profile fuse tap provided in the kit were too large for my fuse box. I had to file down the edges with a metal file to get it to fit. 2) The SoundSync feature that is supposed sync to your music does not seem very accurate. I tried adjusting the sensitivity but the lights just seem to flash randomly, not to the beat of the music. 3) The Aux power wire (Door Assist Feature)!!! This is the biggest gripe I have and I could have avoided a major headache if the kit instructions simply provided more info on this feature and how to set it up. The kicker: this aux "power" wire only acts as a switch and does not actually provide the power to the control box. This means that in order for the lights to come on white when you open the doors you have to have constant power applied via the main power input wire. If you wire it up this way you would need to use the remotes to turn the power off to the lights when you leave the car in order to not drain your battery. This is a pain in the ass in my opinion. I chose to wire my main unit power to the +12V Accessory so that the lights are on when I turn the key. This setup means that the Door Assist feature is not available...unless using some help from relays! I did some research online and ended up using a pair of SPDT relays that are triggered by the driver "door trigger" wire. One relay is triggered when the door opens and provides the Aux input with +12V power from fuse box. The other relay isolates my constant +12V fuse and +12V Accessory inputs. When this relay is not triggered (NO) my control box receives power from the +12V accessory fuse. When this relay is triggered by the door it provides power from the constant +12V source and the LEDs light up white. This allows me to not have to use the remotes to turn the lights on and off and provides the functionality of the door assist feature. It only works for the driver door now but if I wanted to tap into the passenger and rear door triggers I could do that later. Hopefully this information will save someone else a lot of trouble. Even with a lot of online research and reading forums it took a while for me to get this working.

Wow. Pure awesome!
These things are amazing. I have used cheaper, less expensive lights in other vehicles, but I decided to step up to what I hoped would be a better quality of light for my new car. I am VERY glad I did. These lights are far and above the best lights I have ever used in a vehicle. Everything about these says "quality". The lights themselves are brighter & clearer. The remote has full functionality. The wiring is solid, and it comes with more than enough wire ties to tie up any loose wires you have in your car, not counting the wires from the lights. It also includes fuse taps, which saves you from having to buy them separately. And you want Fuse Taps for your lights. Not just bc using them will free up a 12v slot in your dash, but bc using Taps will let you plug these lights into your Dome light fuse slot, which will let your awesome new LED's come on when the door is opened. On that note, the device is programmed preset to turn on the white lights (when using the Fuse Tap into your your dome lights) when the door is opened. The reasoning being this allows people to see more clearly while entering and exiting the vehicle. As an 5 Star Uber XL Driver with a van, I happen to like this as a practical and safety feature. I am not sure you can change this particular behavior, but I haven't tried. The Remote stores your settings so when you start your car the previous settings you had on when you got out will resume. All of the settings are very nice, all of the many colors are vibrant, bright, and distinct. The ONLY small ding I have against this product is one I have with nearly all LED light kits that use music/beat recognition. None I have used so far ever actually sens the beat correctly. I am not sure yet if there is a sensitivity switch, I haven't looked for one, but if there is, it needs to be turned WAY up to be more sensitive to music. As it is, it's sort of weakly flashes at seemingly random intervals. Making that one feature pretty useless. Otherwise, I love everything else about this kit, and aside from that one weak feature which all other kits seems to share, this kit is far better than all the others I have seen and used. I love it! Oh yea, I also like the cool little keyfob remote that comes with this light kit. I also got the extension kit version when I ordered this. Super easy to use to expand with the splitter cables they give you with the extension kit. I will try to post a video sometime to show what it all looks like.

Excellent
I did a lot of research before purchasing these LED strips including watching countless youtube install videos for ideas on how to set it up in my nissan xterra. I looked at a lot of other kits that seemed OK but this kit really has it all. Pros: -Installation crazy easy -Looks amazing -Fuse taps included (most kits I saw you would have to purchase these separately) -Ton of features/lighting options -So many zip ties! Not critical but a really nice touch Cons: -Wiring construction not quite as durable as I would like In the end I chose this kit for many reasons. First they are so easy to install! No matter what your level of experience you can set these up, it is seriously dummy proof. I chose to use the included fuse tap and the set up is super clean. No wires sticking out anywhere. The color options are nice. I personally like the blue as it goes with the rest of my interior but the other primary color options look great. The ability to dim the lights is super helpful. I like to leave them on while I drive which is distracting at the brightest level at night but perfect when dimmed. The other light patterns (strobe, beat, etc.) are also fun. Now my only two complaints are incredibly minor. First the directions are pretty minimal. Not to much information however it is pretty self explanatory and if you really need help just check out youtube. Second the construction of the wires/connecting pieces seems pretty weak. I was a little afraid they might break when installing as I'm not very careful. Now that everything is in place and zip tied off they should be good since nothing will be moving. Overall this kit is awesome. If you're thinking about setting up some LED strips in your car get this.

Poor customer service. Non reliable product
I purchased this product in the month of October 2025 installed it in the middle of November. Was when I installed it it worked hardly used it maybe one or two times. Then few days later I try to install a couple more of the lights extension wire. I purchased a kit of four lighting and extensions. The light would not work, reinstalled it reset it followed all instruction and the light would not work. It was the holidays I couldn’t return it or call them. In January, I’m trying to get a hold with them to see if I can get parts or get some customer service But it’s super hard to get in hold with them. I don’t recommend this product because overall if I can put it together, I hardly used it for two times and the boxes are still here and I got a little time to do everything together completely unreliable product for the price you pay. The quality of the product isn’t good and the customer service is extremely poor. There is no way you can get a hold with anybody.

Easy for everyone
The system was a great for my 2004 Honda accord sedan. Of all the kits that I have used before this is by far the most user friendly I have seen in a very long time. I ran all the wires under the carpets and body panels so nothing was seen and used the fuse tap on the fuse box inside of the car. Between this process and finding the optimal place for all the strips to go, it took me about 3 hours. This includes running lights to under the car seat and having those wires run under the carpet. I can see how it would be also very easy for someone who didn't want to run the fuse tap and just use the 12V port in the car to have it done in 5 min. The light is impressively even and the remotes have an amazing range. I have the control box mounted under the panels and can still use the remote from at least 1 car length away. As an engineer I am very impressed with the build quality for the price. Installation tips: Insure that when you install it with the fuse tap you understand what you are tapping into. Some of the fuse position give you constant voltage even when the power is off on the car. Others will only provide power when the car is turned on. If you don't want to worry about accidentally pressing the power button on the remote and leaving the light on even though the car is off plug the fuse into something that only has 12V when the car is on. Best way is to use a multimeter and touch one to ground and the other to the fuse position and see which one changes from 0V to 12V when the car is turned on. Run all the wires to the correct location and have the LED strips in place before tucking and zip tying wires, otherwise you might pull on a connection to hard. Also when mounting it in the rear, make sure the wires don't get caught when the front seat is moving and if they are attached to the seat, insure there is enough wire to accommodate the movement of it. Issues: I only ran into a couple of issues. First off the mini fuse tap was a bit large so it requires a lot of effort to get it to fit into the slot. Also since the fuse tap is 90 degrees is does cover another slot for the fuses unless you find an open one at the end like I did. Probably could extend the tap so that fuse can be located just a tad down the line so the other locations don't get covered. The other problem I ran into is the small quick remote they give you. The C button or the color changing button doesn't do anything and seems to only change the color to one other color or other times I press it and it does nothing. It also bugs me a tad that the on and off button on it is labeled as A and B which could have just ass easily put something a bit more descriptive. However at this point I am just nit picking. Overall this product is something I would recommend and use again. Actually I plan on getting it for my girlfriends car later this month.
