Jowoom is consistently improving this product. I have had previous versions of this product, and newer additions include an improved LCD screen and custom guitar tuning. I love using it in a ukulele classroom for two reasons. First, I can move from ukulele to ukulele in "Auto Mode" and simply tune...not having to worry about what string I'm on or pressing buttons each time. Second, I can do other things (talk with students, teach, etc.) while tuning without thinking about it. When you use an automatic tuner, whether this model or the competitor's product, you need to be aware of what you're doing. If the automatic tuner (regardless of brand) starts spinning wildly, TAKE THE TUNER OFF THE PEG. Turn it off and on again, and if the problem continues, reset it. Don't simply let the device spin wildly and snap a string. Please take the time to review the manual and to learn how this tuner works. I had middle school students use these to tune our ukuleles (as a service time when those students deliberately messed up the tuning on their ukuleles in class), and they could easily use them. You can, too. This tuner will NOT work with friction pegs or UPT tuners. Geared tuners only. I also like the weight of this unit (it feels solid) as well as the long battery life. I can go weeks without charging it as I tune 40 ukuleles at a time, many times throughout the day. I also like the UP & DW buttons, as the tuner can also function as a string winder, which also helps compensate for some of the cost. Tuning accuracy is good. There are tuners that are noted for extreme accuracy...but they are not auto tuners, and are clip-on tuners (e.g. D'Addario NS, TC Polytune, and Peterson Clip Strobe) some of which approach the price of this tuner. Trust me...you don't want to be moving a clip-on tuner between 40 ukuleles. I like this product, and the company has been very responsive to my questions and concerns. I highly recommend this product.

it really works as it describes, better than other tuners

I just want to say that this has been the most convenient thing in my , it is a great price, it's battery is decent and I can take it anywhere however, today was the first time I decided to take it anywhere, and it was dropped and was killed like a baby chick thrown from a nest... Rest In piece baby bird your life was short but beautiful

It works like it says, but it would be better if it fit all tuning heads. I can only tune some of my guitars. Wish it could do the bass as well. If you can afford it, why not have a nice toy.

Teaching ukulele to 30 fifth grade students each day, this Smart Tuner made getting all instruments ready to play take only about 10 minutes. I had grand visions of teaching students how to tune themselves, but after my only attempt, I knew that my students were not ready to tune themselves in the time I had available. Just put the string turner on the ukulele’s tuning machine knob, pluck the string, and the string is tightened or loosened until a beep indicates the string is tuned. Repeat for all strings. This machine makes teaching a classroom of students much more focused on technique and skills, and avoiding broken strings caused by students who are not ready to tune themselves.

I only wish it could function with a 12 string guitar, too

I’m an elementary general music teacher and this is the first year with my ukuleles. I’m learning alongside the kids, and I’ll admit that tuning a class set of 25 ukes sounded intimidating to me. This device made it so simple! I was able to tune them much quicker than I can with a regular electric tuner. I’d consider this an absolute must for a music teacher incorporating ukulele or guitar into the curriculum!
