9 months and 25 lbs later...
I highly recommend the K'tan! I was unsure about it at first but it has been an amazing tool for us. I have traveled all over using the K'tan and have used it for everyday stuff like taking out of the trash, grocery shopping, cleaning around the house, etc. My husband has a very demanding job and this has really helped me manage our son alone. It is super easy to use and after you practice a few times, you will have no issue using it alone. Also, if it starts to stretch out, wash it. I have washed mine numerous times and it still looks new. The only con, which isn't a problem for us, is it is fitted to the adult wearing it. For example, I am petite and around 130ish lbs. - my husband could not use the size small. Some of the other carriers on the market allow for multiple people to use them. My son is now over 25 lbs and I still wear him. I have never had any issues with my back hurting, only my shoulders being a little sore in the beginning. Babywearing has been such a great experience for us. I find that my son feels very safe and is very well-behaved when he is in his carrier. Most of the time at the store, he just snuggles up against me and goes to sleep.

Recommended size is too small, not much support is given
I bought the wrap size recommended based on my pre-pregnancy clothing size. This was a mistake, as I didn't realize how much larger my breasts would be when my milk came in. Definitely buy a size or two up if you plan on breastfeeding your baby. After my milk came in, I could barely fit the wrap over my chest when empty, much less with my baby in it. The wrap itself was pretty easy to use (before my milk came in). There's a nice instructional guide included with a few different ways to wear the wrap. It's also very soft, which is nice. As for comfort and weight distribution, there is little to no lumbar support. This seems like a nice wrap to wear when your baby is very small. If you want to get something that you can comfortably wear when your baby is a few months old or if you want to go on long walks with the baby, I wouldn't recommend this wrap.

Magic sleep charmer
I just got this carrier a week ago, but think I finally found the one that I love and works! I have been wanting to carry my baby (now 2.5 months) in a carrier since day one, but hadn't found one that she seemed to enjoy being in. I tried a sling and could never get her in right and she cried most of the time in it. I tried the Bjorn and I like it, but my baby wasn't too excited about it (cried in it, though would also calm down some). Bjorn doesn't feel very cozy and cuddly. I have an Ergo given to me by someone else, and everyone raves about it, but haven't been able to figure out how it works (plus I think it is more for when she is bigger). So finally I caved and bought the K'Tan after reading lots of reviews. I wanted something that was easy to use, gave me hands free, and something that she wouldn't scream the whole time in. I want to be able to hold her throughout the day rather than just putting her down (plus, she's a baby that doesn't like to be down very often). So this has seem to do all of those things. When I put her in it, she cries at the start, but very quickly she seems to just calm down and falls asleep. She seems really cozy once she has calmed down. And it's pretty comfy. I really wish that I had this from the beginning! I am hoping that she can continue to use it as she grows (she's already 14 pounds). Using the hug position now (don't think I can get her in the kangaroo position).

Not for Plus -sized parents
First, the positive. The product appears well-made, and the fabric is buttery soft. Now the reason for the low review rating: I ordered the size recommended, and it was way too small. I think the guidelines provided might be fine for a slender adult, but if you're plus-sized, with larger bust line or your post-partum belly hasn't returned to its normal size, the product probably won't work for you.

Best newborn wrap (0-6 mos) available! Washable, supportive, non-tying wrap that permits great airflow
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this carrier. My kiddo was very sensory oriented and needed to be worn nearly all day. He also required co-sleeping from birth. I was given one to try at our local hospital by the lactation team to help make caring for him easier. I even wore him at night while trying to sleep in the recliner; this design reduced my fear I would drop or smother him. I tried several other wraps and carriers (bjorn, ergo, moby, etc). This one was superior in every way. First, it is idiot-proof to put on. Maybe this doesn't matter to everyone, but with 2-4 hours of sleep for many, many months, I was nervous I would "drop" the baby. The design of this one (a figure 8) requires NO TYING. You simply double the wrap, place on neck like a scarf, then place one arm through at a time. (See the videos they have online.) You will have full coverage of your torso. Baby fits securely in the wrap regardless of the position you select. You can also breastfeed hands-free with full coverage and no one will ever know. If you look closely in the photo, you will see it also covers her shoulder slightly. You can actually cover your arms nearly to your elbow, offering a "sweater" like fit. The fabric is cotton, just like the moby, so you can throw the whole thing in the wash. I recommend washing about once a week if you wear 24/7 because it does stretch out with continued use-- the dryer shrinks it back to the perfect shape. It is important to know it seems to run big. You may need two sizes- I wore a M at first as baby was small (6lbs). I am 5'3 and was 38DD at the time, wearing 10/12. Although I lost weight, baby grew, necessitating the L size from 6-9 months. The only downside is the wrap does not have enough lower back support for frequent (4+ hr use) as baby hits more than 20 lbs. By that point, our kiddo really didn't want to be worn anymore. I have recommended and bought this for several friends who were ergo lovers; they immediately switched for the newborn stage because the wrap is more comfortable, less bulky, has better airflow, takes very little space up in the bag, and can be worn during nursing allowing for hands-free movement.

Used the size chart, but find the fit too big & lacks support.

The K'tan is amazing. My son loves being in it! I use it for going on walks, doing housework as well as to keep strangers' fingers out while we're at get togethers/functions. My back did suffer a little bit in the beginning but slowly but surely I am getting used to it. I've since bought another one just to keep in the diaper bag. In my books, it's a must have!

It was tricky at first to figure out how to use the carrier (I had to watch a few youtube videos re: how to wear your baby with a K'Tan). But, once I got the hang of it, it has been amazing. Whenever my newborn gets fussy, I put her in the K'Tan and she calms right down and falls asleep. She loves being carried!

Difficult to guess right size. Impossible to get baby in as per diagrams. Basically a hugely overpriced piece of cloth!!
