First of all I'm not an MUFC fan but to be self indulgent for one second the day Denis Law backheeled the winner against United was the day I scored my only ever hatrick playing football so remember that day for my own exploits....Good read with extensive research and cooperation by some big names including Docherty before he passed away .Was only 4 when they win the European cup but certainly remember the side going downhill in the early 70s. United fans of a certain vintage will love this book, recommended

Such an amazing read, literally couldn't put it down. I have ordered the Duncan edwards eternal book on preorder. I came across this book written by the same author and got it on Kindle to tide me over.It really puts the post Fergie years in perspective. Similarities are crazy but at least we never went to the depths the 70s united fans had to. Really excited for the Duncan edwards book now.

Excellent read.Tells the story of United from Matt Busby retirement through the,short,reigns of Wilf Mcguiness and Frank O'farrel to Tommy Docherty and relegation.It also tells the story of United's rise again under the Doc.Excellent views from the players and managers of the time.A must read for all United fans.

An absorbing account of a very important part of Manchester United's soul and history. To be remembered and appreciated by older fans who were present but, also, a good history lesson for those that weren't.
