STORMGUARD Hard Shell Outside Tap Cover - Garden Tap Frost/Freeze Protector

I’ve used a cheaper version in the past which broke, almost as soon as you looked at them. These have a hard shell on the outside and fit over my two outside taps perfectly. I’ve not had a frost since fitting but I do not expect to have an issue at they fit nice and snugly around the taps and the foam edging gives them a tight seal against the wall.

Bought this to replace a similar unit, which had developed a faulty spring clip after many years of use. As others have said on here, if you have a hose adaptor on the tap, it won't fit inside the cover. No problem for me, I just took the adaptor off and left it on the hose end instead, but I can see why some people would be annoyed at that. Not even worth deducting a star IMHO.

I'd not seen this type of cover before and was getting fed up with the conventional covers available. Ordered 2 of them. These tap covers look neat and are easy to fit, but you may have to have it at an angle over the tap. I have two taps and both were a little 'big' to accept the covers on the straight, which was a shame. Winter is coming, so we'll see how they fare!! However, I have stopped using one of them, sadly, for the tap outside, as part of the pipework was left uncovered. The rating merely reflects our finding on their use. If they fit right over your tap then fine.

We have been using this type of cover for our tap for years. I now need one for somewhere else so got the same type as it's very sturdy and does the job.
