Lew’s Fishing Custom Inshore Speed Spool SLP Series

I got this reel as a Christmas gift to myself. I have to say that I am very impressed with this reel. I am usually a Shimano guy but I couldn't pass up this deal. I strung 20 pound braid and paired it to a Favorite Fishing rod. The first time I took this combo out I was surprised. I didn't even adjust the reel and it cast perfectly. I changed lures and cast again, no problem. I changed again to a free shrimp rig. I did have to adjust the brake to get such a light bait out but I still have yet to backlash this thing. It's amazing! I usually spend at least some of my time on the water untangling a birds nest but not with this baby. As far as landing fish I will say that the drag could be a bit more stout. Bigger fish will run a bit but they eventually make the net. In my opinion, this is a great reel and I would highly recommend it.

Amazon sent a returned item to me. There was no paperwork or parts list or anything in the box,nothing but the reel!!! And it had dirty face. Like it was handled a bit. It wasn’t hurt. And I know these reels well enough. I’ll keep it. But that’s not right. They should check returns better than that. Especially before sending it out again

This Lews preformes very nicely. Smooth casting, with control and good distance. Have purchased a second Lews for my other rod.

Very smooth and durable, just doesn’t swim very well 😢 I lost it overboard when left a lure dangling in the water while getting a fish off. Lookto get another but hard to find now. Great reel

Very easy to use. I expected it to take me few trips to get use to casting this reel without any backlashing since this is basically my first baitcaster, but it worked perfect right out the box. The only bird nest I had was when I wasn't paying attention and the line had wrapped itself around the rod tip. I ended up putting 20# braid on the reel and it was able to smoothly cast plastic lures a nice distance even with the braking system tightened up pretty well. I didn't get a chance to see how it performs while fighting a big fish so I guess I'll just have to take it back out as soon as I can....can't wait.

Super smooth and light, drags great(20lbs), cast super far with braid (fins wind tamer) love winn grips and love the little hook holder it comes with cause I use tandem rigs so having an extra hook holder comes in handy and the 7.5:1 gear ratio comes in handy for those super spooks

Amazing reel. Love the look and feel. Caught plenty of gaftopsail catfish at the coast from 3-10lbs. Features are great. Worth the money if you enjoy saltwater angling. The only thing I will complain about is not the reel it self but the picture because it shows a right hand retrieving reel but is left handed according to model #. This is more of the seller or amazon issue. I thought it was right but nevertheless I kept it since I use both hands for different setups.

Great reel once you get it dialed in smooth quiet and a great gear ratio..I dropped one star for price point it's a little high for what this reel is.

just took this reel out to try it out and get a feel for it and was very pleased at how smooth it worked. very pleased, would recommend, no problem
