I have been searching for nice crystal proportional port glasses, and have not been able to actually get a complete box delivered. So much ordering and returning, but no glasses that were beautiful and intact. These were from Amazon as the vendor, and they were beautifully packed, they all arrived intact. I wanted something that would hold a 3-4 oz serving of port or other fortified wines with room to swirl and inhale. I wanted a price point that would let me use them for casual and "everyday", but nice enough to feel just a little special when friends are over. I hoped they would go with my Bormioli classic glasses, but since both port and sherry are standalone drinks, I had decided the shape was less important than the look and feel, capacity, and light refraction so they look fine on the table if you are serving a Madera with a dish, not a match, but obviously the same material and general form. Many mention that these were too small, so I gave it a shot. These are the Bormioli Michelangelo line, and say 8 oz - although some say they are smaller, so, I ordered a set while they were on sale. These are slightly bigger than I expected based on the reviews - about the size of red wine in an English pub or a family style Italian Restaurant (where the pasta is perfect, and they fill the glass just shy of the rim) but these are sooo much nicer and perfectly proportioned - so many of the glasses seem to be on stilts, VERY tall compared to the bowl. These are Goldilocks - not too short, not too tall, just Right!😁. They are a little bigger than I hoped, and not the classic shape - I did know that when In ordered, so not a criticism, but rather information for the review - but they are the same material as my other stemware, so they have the same light refraction when on a table together. These will definitely work for me. I will be ordering a couple more boxes so I have enough for our usual crowd, and a few extras for breakage. They are small enough that when filled half full, it is a generous serving of port, sherry, Madeira, or whatever your fortified wine of choice is, big enough at the top that you can easily get your nose in to inhale, wide enough mid-glass for the wine to provide a good "nose", but the right size if you fill them half full with Sherry as a before dinner thing, your guest will be able to make it to the table only slightly lighter and relaxed. We must pace ourselves, and these help. They would also be great for a white wine with a fish appetizer, a sweet dessert wine, or port for dessert. They are not light, the area where the stem and bowl meet is substantial, but that keeps the center of gravity low so they are not tippy. They seem a bit sturdier and slightly thicker (I did not measure, just the impression I have, but this may be due to smaller glass, same thickness? 🤷‍♀️). They say they are dishwasher safe, so that is where they will go party nights, but they are easy enough to hand wash if you are just having a glass of port and a piece of chocolate at the end of the day. Hey, Elizabeth had a glass of champagne every night before bed, rumor goes, so, given her final age, I think an occasional port or sherry will be ok.

these are perfect size for us. fit nicely in hand. solid, good looking. they are smaller than your average wine glass (even smaller than average white wine glass), but we use it in informal occasions for both red and white wine.

These were smaller than I imagined, but they are very nice looking and durable. Just have to pour the wine to higher level.

I already had the bigger size for water and bought these wine glasses to match. I love the curvy lines, they don't break easily but don't look too thick either. I also like the proportions, not too high and unstable and not too big like many glasses seem to be these days. (Glasses seem to be getting bigger and bigger and you could almost pour a bottle into one!)

They are delicate looking and feeling wine glasses but dishwasher safe. Very nice stem wear.

These are great wine glasses if you are interested in examining the quality and clarity of your wine or if you simply want to zip without holding a large volume. If you like to swirl your wine, they work well too although they don’t have the rounded belly of the more popular french style glasses made to maximize the aroma. I like them in my winery when I must evaluate several version of a wine side by side. The combination of nose and optics with these glasses is superior to others. I do however, use a stemless glass if I am just hanging out, on my desk, or drinking with friends, as a way if minimizing spillage.

We purchased eight of these beautiful Italian glasses some years ago. Two were broken by guests - at different times - attempting to wash them. I've been searching for replacements since and now I found them at Amazon. Thank you for carrying them. These four are a perfect match and I now have a set of ten. But I am nervous and will soon purchase 4 more because we often have parties of 12 or more. My wish is fulfilled.

Bought these after buying similar without realising the previous ones were too small. Take care with the capacities. Also had gifted a set at Christmas so was able to assess before treating myself. Perfect for white wine but not a stretch to consider using for red. Sturdy enough bowl with fine stem which is titanium reinforced. Love Bormiolo glasses and now have a range of them. Recommended.

Sometimes a manufacturer gets something just right, and this 8-oz glass is a perfect example. It's been open stock for a long time. We've used them as our "house" wine glasses for about 16 years -- day in, day out, dinners for 2, parties for 24. Unless you're a wine connoisseur with a big budget for wine glasses, the moderate tulip shape is good for most types of wines. Using an 8-oz makes it easier to keep track of how much you're drinking. Simple, elegant, well balanced, and versatile, they look good even with fine china and silverware. Dishwasher safe and pretty tough, though we usually wash and dry ours by hand to avoid rim chips.

Just the right size a nice glass, good and solid.
