A Good Kit
My wife and I took a dichroic glass class several years ago, but never followed though with it. Mostly due to not having access to a kiln. So when I read about microwave kilns I thought I'd give this kit a try. The kiln itself appears to be one of the many nearly identical ones for sale. Small (which I think is an advantage for a beginner) but serviceable. The gloves were a nice surprise. Better than I expected. The sample packs of glass, etc allowed us to experiment with cutting, layering and getting the time right for the kiln in our purpose bought microwave. The kiln paper works, but does not impart the smoother surface that better quality, thinner paper provides. No instructions, but there are plenty of YouTube videos and other online sources to get you started A good investment for someone wishing to try this hobby out.

Great price. Quality product.
Super pleased with this product!! And bonus that it comes with some glass to get started. Just a beginner with this. But I am having a blast!! Don't use the gloves that come with it though. Not heat resistant at all.

DO NOT use the gloves on anything warm! They melt!
The kiln is too small to use with pottery and the black lining became puffy like honeycomb candy pretty quickly. Most of my pottery was lost to explosions prior to me figuring out the kiln was just too small. I could have overlooked that because it worked ok with glass BUT the "heat proof" gloves are dangerous! They melted the second they touched the kiln - I'm lucky they didn't melt onto my hands. DO NOT use the gloves on anything hot - you risk getting seriously burned.

So much fun and Fast Rewards
I am just having fun for now experimenting. I would suggest you go to YouTube and ask for Microwave Kiln and there are plenty of How -to-Video's. The gloves will melt if left by a hot kiln, so don't. I did ,not good. I would recommend it to artist.

good kiln, bad gloves
The gloves are dangerous to use with the kiln. Buy some bbq grilling gloves. The kiln is excellent for melting small glass. The assortment of glass gives you a chance to try out fusing.

If only it didn’t break
I loved playing with this kiln, but I was only able to heat it up 4 times before it cracked so badly the top came off. It heated up great. It is quite small, smaller than measurements given. It comes with a good assortment of glass to experiment with, assuming yours doesn’t break. It also comes with a scoring tool to help break bigger pieces of glass and a file tool. The gloves aren’t to use as heat protection, but they are to protect your hands from getting cut by the glass. It would have been great if it hadn’t broken.
