I used this position book as a child when learning to play viola. Now I use it for my students and also as a good review for me. You can never visit the basics enought!!

I like the viola book but would prefer it used treble clef for the higher notes instead of all alto clef.

This is an old book but it's a classic that will never date. It contains many useful exercises to help you gain security when moving between positions on the viola, and is particularly useful for those who played the violin previously and who are having to bend their mind around the alto clef and lower strings of the viola. This is the most useful book of position-changing exercises for the viola that I have ever used.

I am still working on this book so in several months I will be able to play these positions. the finger moves from one position to another are tricky but conquerable.
