I was scared to work with layer cakes before because I fail miserably in leveling cakes. Ruler and knife just do not work for me! I can't do it! I decided to give this a try and boy I feel like I am an expert cake maker. It's so easy to use and it works perfectly. So far I have tried it on white almond sour cream cake and it has done great. I was able to do a checkerboard cake and I couldn't imagine pulling it off before. Can't wait to make more fabulous cakes! If you suck at leveling cakes, do not hesitate to get this tool! I promise you are going to love it! Update 4/24/17- I have used this cake leveler several times with different cake recipes and it levels cakes perfectly every time. I love it so much. For those who are saying that this leveler shreds cakes, you need to make sure that the cakes are completely cool. I always freeze my cakes before leveling. I usually make them days ahead, freeze then thaw for two hours before leveling. This method works like a charm. If you need the cakes the same day here what is you need to do after the cake comes out of the oven 1.) invert the cakes after 10 mins. 2.) cool them on a cooling rack for an hour 3.) wrap them in saran wrap and freeze for an hour 4.) take them out of the freezer and level. The chocolate cake I posted with my review is really moist but the cake leveler still worked. I didn't have a problem at all. I love love love this cake leveler and I can't live without it now. Goodbye cake domes and uneven cake layers!

I have been in search of a way to beautifully level my cakes, and nothing has been successful - baking bands, toothpicks, serrated knife, etc just didn't work. I just used the Wilton Cake Leveler this morning to cut through 4 cakes, and I was amazed at how simple it was! My cake layers are perfectly even, and can't wait to assemble the cake. I KNOW the family will be impressed. I read the bad reviews on this item, and realized that people just don't know what they are doing, causing them to be dissatisfied. Like anything new, patience is key to get used to how it works and there's even a VIDEO posted to show people how to be successful with it. When adjusting the wire, GENTLY (and I mean GENTLY) hold the tool against your belly, and GENTLY squeeze it together to adjust the wire. I can see some of these people trying to yank the wire without doing so. You simply can't. The whole premise behind the tool is to have a very taught wire for it to work - like a mini saw. Common sense dictates that you need to squeeze the tool to adjust it. The comments are truly laughable. The item works just fine, and the majority of the negative comments are 'operator error'. The sort of people that would try to fit a square peg into a round hole. If you are a baker, give it a try! I can take my baking to a whole new level of a professional presentation!

The blade thickness of this cake leveler is perfect so as not to make a mess. The cut accuracy is phenomenal. Easy to use and a great value for the money. The grip is an added feature that greatly improves this product.

Sorry, but I just can’t recommend this cake leveler (even at a low cost). It’s sometimes exactly as the adage indicates: “you get what you paid for”. The quality is just poor. It feels very flimsy when using.. as if merely leveling the cake will damage it. We used it once and it went straight into the “junk drawer” (never to be used again) and purchased a better one to replace it.. Q

Hace lo que promete. Me gustó y de buena calidad. Aunque tengo que ayudar a mi esposa a cambiar cuando quiere una media en particular.

Un indispensable pour moi qui ai du mal à couper droit en plus ça permet d’avoir des disques de même taille bref conquise
