Tiger Woods used Precept. Try it.
Not bad cheap balls. I game proV1 in summer. And usually game Callaway super soft in winter. These aren't bad for the price. Putting feels odd but you get used to the sound. I like the green alignment.Update 2016: so lately I have been using Volvik S3 or VIBE balls and love them. I forgot to bring an extra sleeve to the course yesterday and my playing partner had some Laddies. I used them before (see above) so I knew all about them. Or so I thought. My drives I track with my Garmin G7. My average drive for the season is 220 in spring. 234 in summer. (I don't lie and act like I hit 300 like many posers on here) Then sometimes dips all the way to 215 when it gets colder. (I'm a 15 HC 47 YO). We tracked my drives with the Laddie (I did not do this last year) and my average drive was suddenly 246 yards. In October. Obviously my slower controlled swing responds much better with these golf balls. My only issue is sometimes I will pull these balls. Not a hook but maybe a 30 yard pull. I'll adjust.Putting still is weird to me with these, so I simply replace my ball on the green with my Volvik (perfectly legal to change balls once you reach the green)I'm pretty happy. Will use these all fall and winter and will update this review w my winter distance at a later time.I found out today (google it yourself) Tiger Woods used Precept balls (not these he had a firmer version made for him) for many years rebadged as Nike. Fascinating. Other PGA tour players have used Precept LADY of all things. These are obviously not junk. And at this price? You can put a new ball in play every 4-5 holes like the pros do and shag bag the used. Or play w then until they start acting funny. For giggles I'm also going to try a Precept Lady just to see what happens.

Take down Tiger
I found one of these balls recently and it immediately had an impact on my game, making two birdies in the next three holes en route to beating my playing partner, who is in the same class as Tiger Woods (according to him). That sparked me to buy the double dozen and I've played a few rounds with the Laddie X since then. I'm surprised by the distance off the tee and love the soft feel around the greens. Even the occasional skulled chip seems to find its way to the flagstick. This is supposedly a senior ball, but I'm still many years away from that and I love it. It also goes without saying that two dozen balls for $20 is a great deal. I've been golfing for 24 years and have always thought highly of Precepts, which I used to play as a high school golfer. I'm glad the Laddie X is carrying on a fine golfing tradition of excellence.

It's been a year now.
I have lost distance as I have aged. I am a single digit handicap and have always played Pro V's as long as they have been around. The Laddie is a low compression ball. I have gained all my distance back and rather than hitting a 6 iron to the green I am hitting a 9 iron into the green. Guess what that means? I'm hitting more greens and my handicap has come down. I would give this ball 5 stars except that you lose some control around the green. They don't spin and stop like the Titleist, but you can get adjust to that.

For the money they seem to do fine. If your high stakes and been at the game awhile you may prefer a ball a new player or week end warrior would not understand. If you lose Four or Five balls over Eighteen, than the significant other may not give the funny eye when you stock up. Costco has some nice buys on Callaway Balls from time to time; but, for the most part Amazon can be very competitive. The Precept Laddie 24 Pack is a good example. When you strike them correctly seem to travel well. The Three P's ... Practice, Practice, Practice. I will be buying a Practice Net to develop my swing. Anyway, decent balls for a fair price and they were delivered in 2 days. Amazon is starting to win my heart.

A good quality inexpensive ball for a weekend golfer
I think the title of my review says it all. My husband bought a box of these balls last year and sort of wanted to try a much more expensive ball this year but finally agreed that there was nothing wrong with these so this is his second box. In his heart he knows that even if he pays many dollars per ball he is still going to play the way he plays - but don't tell him I said that!I do not think that a person who is close to being a pro would be happy with these balls, but those people wouldn't be looking in this price range anyway. For the average guy who enjoys getting out and playing a decent game of golf these are just fine.

They're not Pro V1's...and that's a good thing!
I'm not a pro. If you're reading this, you're not either. Us normal folk want a ball that's affordable and performs well. Ladies and gentlemen, this is it. They fly true, they fly long (I gained 10 yards off the tee here in humidity thick Florida), performs great around the greens, is responsive off wedges, spins very well considering its 2 piece design, and is just a great all around golf ball. And at less that 20 bucks for two dozen? Shut up and take my money! The best value in golf balls around, hands down. If you really want to keep impressing your golfing buddies by playing Pro V1's, so be it. As for me (as a 14 handicap)...these are great.

Good value for the money.
For the beginning player or the older player who may have lost a bit of speed swing this ball can be an excellent option. Soft feel off the driver as well as the putter. Action with short irons and chips around the green is average. For the price you can afford to toss the ball that gets a bit scuffed and not have your game ruined after hitting a couple of these out of bounds. No fellows, these are not the Ladies balls. For those of us who hit the lady precept a few years ago when we found out we were gaining 15 or 20 yards.... they built us the Laddie!

good balls
I like the Laddie. I usually play Noodle+ Long& Soft since I have about 80mph club speed. The Laddie feels about the same, costs about the same, and travels about the same as the Noodle. Beware- not all Noodles are created the same; I play TaylorMade Noodle+Long&Soft. The Precept Laddie has good feel around the green. I have hit both the Laddie and the Noodle from the same Tee at same time; both same distance. The Surlyn cover scuffs about the same, but is durable; I loose them before I wear out a cover. It is a soft ball for slower swing speeds.

Good!
If I recall the balls were fine but my golf game unfortunately is not. I lost them all after about the 15th round of last season!
