This version has to have a AAA battery installed, which is not included.
Pro's: Small (4 5/8's x 2 5/16's x 1 1/16) with easy to read digital display and stores compactly without loose leads dangling about in a case that protects the face and allows it to be placed in with other tools and not be damaged. Con's: Instructions are not clear as to installing the battery. You might want longer leads (they are only about 19 inches long). Storing the leads and closing the case is a little fiddly. To help get you started: Remove two screws on the back. The back cover extends down to just below the face of the instrument. You might have to use a magnifier to see the seam where the cover separates from the face. Use a sharp knife edge on the seam to help pry the back cover from the face of the instument. Install the battery, replace the cover and secure it with the two screws. Other than that, you have to use care to store the leads so they do not interfere with the lid when you close it. Pay attention to how the leads are stored before taking them out for the 1st time. The plastic piece holding them in place is hinged and can be raised and snaps back in place.

Prefeesional strength emergency backup-meter.....
I'm an electrical engineer. For the most exacting professional work, I'll use a Fluke 87 or 287 DVM or spendy oscilloscope. But those are all big, heavy and expensive! This dandy little meter is perfect for keeping in a daypack or glove box "just in case": It's small and light enough its not a hassle to carry around. It's cheap enough I don't have to worry I might damage or lose it. and it's powerful and versatile enough to solve 99% of the problems I'm likely to encounter (or have sprung on me by family and friends who know what I do for a living)

Small portable meter.
Accurate to my Milwaukee meter. Extremely small and easy to carry in my pocket so I have a meter on me all day.

The instructions don't mention removing the back of the unit to remove a protective tape
I've bought this meter before and found it useful. I wanted to add one to my work trailer so I ordered another. It arrived apparently dead. I couldn't get the unit to turn on at all. I read and reread the 16 page Users Manual. No mention of removing a protective tape from the battery like lots of battery powered devices. Access to the battery requires unscrewing the back, not a slide out panel. Being brand new, I didn't want to remove the cover for fear of voiding a warranty. I got an email from the seller. Yep... got to remove the back cover and then remove the tape protecting the battery. My only other complaint is it is a big difficult to open. Radio Shack used to have a similar meter that was much easier to open.

Excellent for its size and price
I needed a very small multimeter that I could carry in my emergency toolbox that I keep in my car, and not take up a lot of space that's needed for pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, et cetera. This looked like the best, and I'm glad I got it. Granted, it has a SLIGHTLY fragile feel, not rugged like my expensive professional meters that I have in my workshop. But among other things I love about it, it lives in its own integral protective case. I didn't want to have to deal with two pieces, the meter and a separate case. With this you just open the door. The case seems reasonably tough, all that I need for occasional light use. It also measures a ton of different things, more than I need but nice to have. I do have to laugh at all the one-star reviews saying that it arrived DOA. Several even said that they returned it, and the replacement was also DOA. Um, maybe a quick check to discover that it comes without a battery would have been in order.

Dead On Arrival. Battery?
I like the size and convenience of having a meter such as this one in a travel tool bag. I will try again as I was very disappointed with this meter. It was Dead on Arrival (DOA) when I received it. I suspect it was the battery, there are no instructions on how to change the battery. After gently trying to find the battery location or door or pry point or any indication of how the unit can be opened, I broke it, Yes I broke the f’ing thing. Hugely frustrating that being of reasonable intelligence and slightly above average mechanical and electrical skills I broke a new meter trying to replace a battery. Yes I am dorky enough to to READ instructions. None for this unit on battery replacement. Now if the battery is a lifetime unit and you throw away the meter when the battery dies. I apologize to the manufacture because of complaining that I could not open a non-openable unit. However, the meter did not work out of the box! Value for money NO! As unit did not work. I wanted a meter not a wired paperweight. I guess I could use the probes as replacements for the “Operation” game, the one that broke 5 years ago but I could not throw away. It is a thin unit and if it worked would easily fit in your pocket or tool bag for convenience. Since it does not work it more like carrying a dead mouse in you pocket. Well it does not smell as bad as a dead mouse.

Just a great product to have around. Self armoured, so it doesn't get smashed kicking around on a motorcycle, self contaned, so there isn't buts everywhere. Tested against my Fluke multimeter, it's reasonably accurate. Certainly enough to diagnose and repair problems on the side of the road. Maybe a little tough to do communication diagnostics, but that's beyond scope of what I use it for anyways.

Je cherchais depuis longtemps un super mini-multimètre, le voici, testé depuis quelques mois, il fonctionne bien, un peu cheap au niveau du plastique (il faut y aller doucement à l'ouverture/fermeture) mais j'en suis content.
