I won't claim that this food is the best around nor will I attest to the quality of its ingredients. I just know that it's the best bang for my buck. I rescue/care for a colony of 45 feral cats that basically live in my backyard and spawned from one single cat and her offspring. Cost is paramount for me since I am jobless and pay for their food, meds, care, surgeries out of pocket. And sometimes... I run out of good food so I give my indoor cats this stuff temporarily and they didn't seem to riot or start puking like crazy or anything. I can't say much about the taste. I don't taste test pet food usually. Smell-wise, I don't smell anything bad about it. It's cheap, my cats inside and out haven't reacted in any observable negative way from it over the years... so I give it two paws up for what it's worth.

The call and message customer service has been disabled so noplace to contact. All links take me to help menu. We ordered catfood for the umteenth time and received 3 open boxes, tracking said handed off to us but it was not. It was left open on the porch with our hundreds of dollars of other items ordered. I was 5 feet away watching a movie so nobody but driver was on my porch. In the box that should have been cat food was bleached rawhide dog bones, candy, zinc tablets and an android tablet. Also, our two previous orders that we were given a credit for again wrong product were over ridden by a manager in the warehouse so please if someone from amazon can message us and get us our cat food the ferals in the back would appreciate it. Waiting a week for a refund to process and being given an extra credit of 5 for our inconvenience, only to be reversed after I have spent it on more cat food gets frustrating. As far as the food, the cats like it. It is the most economical and keeps the ferals around so we can trap for spay neuter. It took only a few months for them to go from underweight and malnourished to healthy with soft fur.
