Holy Bible Hardcover – Print, March 29, 2000

I gifted this to my son for his 15th birthday. He's autistic and drawn to color, so I hoped this would get his attention. It must, because when I read to him, he listens. I even let him choose what we will read before bed. When reading from MY Bible, he's restless and irritable. The book is thick, heavy and well-made. The cover is glossy, and the contents are thorough. The scriptures are converted into stories, which makes it easier for children to connect with (me too, really).

It really translates every word you can't understand in the Adult Bible and you get better understanding 🙏 💯 🙌 and your thrilled to want to read more stories I read all of Genesis,LEVITICUS, Exodus, Deutoronomy and currently reading Joshua 📚 😍 thats how thrilled I am in understanding the stories better.

The illustrations in this Bible keep me coming back.The first copy I ordered was meant for my children to share, but the opportunity arose to give it to someone else, so I did and then I ordered two more so that my twins could each have their own. The fourth one I am about to order will also be given away and I will continue to give this Bible as a gift because I just love the truth of the illustrations. I will say that one of the copies I received for my second order contained illustrations of lighter skinned people. I simply sent it back with no problems and reordered from a different seller whose copy of the Bible had the desired look. We've used these Bibles almost every day since. The truth of what people looked like in that part of the world during the time the recorded events of the Bible took place is part and parcel of the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My heart rejoices at the boldness of this version of the Word of God.

This version is good for the younger student, elementary-junior high. Wordings a little more understandable but true to the scripture. Is is laid out in chapters and verses like a regular Bible with some other headings of sections to find help find where one story or section begins and ends. Pictures are beautiful and each picture, not always aligned with the accompanying scripture, has the scripture reference by it to be able to connect easily. Would be nice to have a red letter feature for the words of Jesus.

I will use this Bible for study and understanding.

The media could not be loaded. I’m a little more used to the King James version of the Bible, but since I bought this Bible for my niece to introduce her to reading and studying the Bible for herself, I believe the contemporary English version of the Bible will be a good start for her. I also wanted to find a good study Bible for her that had a more accurate depiction of the Israelite people and the surrounding nations during that time; the pictures illustrated still have some inaccuracies but they are still closer to their actual depiction compared to most Bible illustrations and other biblical literature, so I appreciate that.Upon delivery, the outer cover looks good there were no nicks, dents, or cuts. However, opening up the book on the first page, the upper right corner of the page was bent and also there were at least four pages where they were two illustrated pieces that were reprinted back to back; other than that I think it’s an excellent and well printed book that my niece will surely enjoy.

I love the different looks for the people in the Bible! I had precious moments growing up, and everyone was a White as snow. This one offers diversity. Love that!

I teach Sunday school to kids age 4 to 12 and use this to tell bible stories while showing the pictures. Not as captivating as videos, but better than just me and my attempts at animated story telling.
