I've tried numerous brands of LED tap lights for various reasons, determined to find the best, and this is one of them. A+!!!
I have a HUGE network of shelving and closets throughout my house, as well as tons of display shelves. When I first bought these, I intended them for seemingly the universal usage that is a pre-requisite, and that is to light up my closets. LOL But the very first day I got these and felt for myself how light weight and bright they are, I decided to start buying them for the nicest of my collector shelves. I display quite a few statues and collectibles, but sometimes, depending on the when and the where they are, the shelves just don't get enough light. Enter these bad boys, and that problem is SOLVED. I stick one of these to the underside of the shelf I want to illuminate, and it's bright enough to light up the entire inner box of the shelf, and everything on it too. There are other brands, and they all work honestly. Some are larger, some more expensive, some a tad brighter. I like these because they are the perfect balance between cost and functionality. I get three for less than ten dollars, and you will be AMAZED at how long they last. I have recently purchased more, as more of my shelves needed lighting. I am pleased to report that my old lights are still every bit as bright as the new ones, and that is after YEARS. I have NEVER had one lose power from the bulb going bad, though sometimes I have to replace the triple A batteries. They are more than bright enough to read by, or to navigate a completely dark house for that matter. I buy the tiny key chains of these as well for friends and family, and they work like a charm. (Super Bright LED Keychain Flashlight) Flat out bottom line, these things do JUST what they say they will, and that's all I ever expect from my products. Give them a try, and I know you won't be disappointed. Thanks so much for your time folks.Sincerely, R.A. McDowell

great for spotlighting small areas!
I love these lights! I find them so easy to use for lighting specific areas that I'm displaying. I have placed them under the shelves on my entertainment center (see photo), rather than adding fairy lights to each shelf. I also attached two of them to the shelf above the one with my train diorama (it's a little over a foot long) to highlight it. I'm very satisfied with them and will be using them again next Christmas!

Good, handy, strong, little lights, but you may be going through a lot of batteries.
I've had these for 6 months, now, and I couldn't decide between 3 or 4 stars for two reasons:1) Each takes 3 AAA batteries, and it feels like they don't last long. Our fault, but we keep accidentally leaving one of these on in the outside pantry for 24 hours, and that just about does them in. I changed the batteries and it's fine again, but batteries are expensive and now we've used a lot. Somehow, I feel these should last longer than 20 - 30 hours.2) The sticky back is big enough and strong to hold the light, but it doesn't stick well at all on untreated wood, which oddly enough seemed to be everywhere I wanted to stick them. It must be stuck onto a clean slick surface. However, these are great little lights to have around dark corners of the home, and maybe for emergencies. I originally bought these to put one into our dark pantry and as for some extra light when needed it in the closet. They're very bright and useful. I decided to buy some more, load them up with batteries and keep near the candles we use for power outages. Hopefully the power is not out for more than a day or two. I recommend these, just don't forget to turn them off.

Cheap, Works Well, Convenient, Would Buy Again -- but you need to know the issues.
I used these in a custom closet build-out that I crafted because they were cheap and I figured if I could get away with using something cheap that didn't require me to run new electrical all over the place, I should -- since I don't use the lights in this situation much anyway.PROS:- Cheap- Works well- Good light if you don't use it a lot- Easy to installCONS:- Cheaply made- Light dims quickly- Falls off of surfaces that aren't perfectly smooth- Sucks battery juice quicklyBottom line is, I would buy these again. They work well, and as advertised only require a gentle tap to turn them on and off. I also like them because I can use them situationally -- for example, if I only want them on in the top center tie box and the two sides, plus only the top rack in the shoe rack, I can do that, instead of turning the whole system on. If I only want to leave the tie box light on for atmospheric light at night, I can do that instead of getting blazing light coming out the closet. If I want to see the whole bloody thing lit up, it's gorgeous, but I don't leave it like that for very long. The lights are bright -- at the beginning, for the first maybe 20 hours of use. The next 40, they're considerably dimmer. After that, they're specks of light. I'm still trying to burn out a puck, and it hasn't died yet (well over 100 hours at this point) but I can barely see it anymore. They also mount easily, with a circle of double-stick foam tape in the back -- problem is, it's not a high strength tape and if you're mounting it to a surface that isn't completely smooth, the whole puck will fall off once in a while. I solved that problem by using strips of a high-strength mounting tape. If they fall off and hit the ground though, the housing will crack -- and can be superglued back together easily. One trick I learned is to rotate the lights. They have a bottom mounting surface, and then the actual puck light mounts onto that by inserting and twisting. As the lights you use most dim out, just twist them out and replace them with the ones that you barely use, and you'll maintain brightness where you want it for longer. I also maintain a few battery chargers, so once in a while when the lights start getting dim, I throw them in the charger and replace them with fresh ones. Constantly buying new AAA's would be prohibitive. You can also color the lights, like an oldschool color filter, to get a warmer light. I tried it with a thick orange sharpie to get a warmer color temperature, but eventually I just scrubbed it off because I liked the look of the cooler color temperature better (in the picture). You also need very even coverage with no darkened lines or it'll show up in the beam. These lights are cheap, but they work for what I need them to do, are easily replaceable, and I will buy these again.
