If you’re all about quality, look no further! I have ordered multiple sets of “Mexican Train” over the years, as well as various extra components (trays, etc.) in an effort to compile a nice set that would last a lifetime of use with lots of friends, kids, and grandkids. Let’s begin with the container that actually holds the set. Weird as it may seem (at least it did to my husband), I really wanted a box or storage container that actually stated what the contents of said container was. I am an avid “labeler”, but I wanted a set that actually “came” with the name of the game imprinted on it. My reasoning for this was that if someone were to ever come across this game on the shelf, and had never actually played “Mexican Train” or perhaps never even heard of it (for example as was the case with one of my son-in-laws), they would be able to immediately identify it as an actual game. (Rather than simply a random box of dominos.) I mean, dominos are great! But. This is an entire game that happens to use dominos as one of its components. That distinction was important to me. This game is fun for the whole family, and for all ages. The box has more than adequate storage capacity and is very sturdy. Not just a cheap-o box. Very impressed with the packing, as well. (Both inside and out) which ensured that it would arrive in great condition. And we discovered an added bonus! We had no idea that the dominos which came with our other sets were actually thin and not of good quality until we saw and compared the difference! The dominos in this set are double the thickness of those in several other sets we had! The instructions which are included are easy to read and understand, and the entire set is simply above and beyond what we were expecting. If I could rate it higher than five stars, I would!

Our family LOVES this game from age 8-80. This is a really nice edition which we like because the game gets heavy use on many family & friend game nights. Not too hard not too easy — perfect after dinner game.

Funny family game and this particular set is very nice from top to bottom. You will find a lot of sets with dominos so thin that they will not stand up without a tray, these are not. Solid dominos, sturdy box, metal trains, a nice wooden centerpiece, and even a easy to use pad of score cards. Whither you are already addicted to Mexican Train and need (want) a new set or just looking for a new fun game to play with family and friends you can not go wrong with this set.

Lots of fun to play

This wonderful 'train' game is designed to entertain and engage. It invokes fun, laughter, and bonding memories. The game comes in an attractive and very well made two tone solid wood box, that is felt lined inside. The 'lid' sides open and shut from the right side, traveling on the incised 'rabbit' on the top edge of the box. The contents are of excellent quality, and are: 1. One solid wood central hub station, 2. Eight cast metal trains, 2 golden, 2 silver, 2 antigue brass, 2 antique nickle in appearance. The last two tones are difficult to tell apart. 3. Nintey-one tournament style double twelve color dot dominoe tiles, 4. Two score pads, and instrustions. The over all size of the storage box is aprox 10" x 12" x 2 3/4" deep, and weighs a 'hearty' 6 lb. The object of the game is for each player to use up all their tiles by playing them onto one or more chains (or trains) leading out of the central hub station. Two people can play, and no more then eight. The usual time with eight players is 1 1/2 hours. The suggested age for this game is eight years and up. I suggest this is the perfect game for many occasions. Family, friends, social gatherings, game night, or a gift. This game is loads of fun, and is perfect for any gathering. This delightful game is the most luxurious set available. It is strong yet elegant, and it's classic rich look makes this set a great display item. The quality is great very nice wood box not pressed wood but real wood probley pine the paint job on the box is very nice the inside is all felt lined. The the train station is just as good as the box the dominoes are the ivory kind not plastic they have a good heavy weight feel to them it comes with a nice set of directions that are easy to read and understand. I played this game one time before with friends the only difference between the two were there's game in a metal tin same quality dominoes but these the colors are different for us it won't make a difference. Since we are not use to certain colors yet. When we play with friends then I'll know how big of a deal it really is. I don't understand for all the hard work that is put into making this a fine custom looking set. Why didn't they just use the traditional colors I with held 1 star only because they could have had a great set with nothing bad you could say about it if they had only used the traditional colors? ????????? I'm sure the set will last our life time though it is a very well put together game in a deluxe wood box that I would be glad to display someplace in our cottage.

This game is alot of fun, it does not take alot of time to teach someone to play. Great game , very enjoyable.

Muy bonito, todo bien, solo no me trajo el Score pad

The wooden lid of the game box gave way immediately upon opening. Besides that, there were obvious glue stains on the lid, and the inside of the game box was very dusty. Very disappointing! Would not recommend.

There is one domino where the colours aren't all filled, but other than that, it is perfect. The dominoes are nice and thick so they stand up well. The colours are quite good and east to tell apart. The metal trains are nice as well as the wooden starting hub is great
