I purchased a set on a whim because it is so inexpensive. I love them. They are creamy, affordable, and the colors are fabulous. I am over 70 with arthritic hands and I can blend them with ease. They do seem to cure overnight and dry out a bit. . After one day, I ordered the 72 piece set. That’s how much I like them. This set is fine for a beginner. They give the feel of working in pastels or oils with minimal cleanup, no toxicity or odors.. Set up requires opening the box and getting a damp paper towel and some Q tips. Blick’s website rates them as nontoxic. Light fastness is poor. You can fix this by framing with UV protective glass, should you produce a masterpiece. You will run out of white quickly. Order this from Jerry’s Artarama. Or just get a different brand. If you are a beginner you will enjoy using 2 or 3 colors in one spot and possibly blending. . Certainly worth $20. Far more expensive at Jerry’s. I’m assuming this has to do with tariffs, so grab these.

Ordered these oil pastels on a whim while looking for a new medium to try my hand at. Although I'm still learning basic techniques, these pastels are so easy to work with, and come with a great variety of vibrant shades. They are buttery smooth on all types of paper, but I've found they work best on watercolor, mixed medium, or pastel paper. So far, they are all still in one piece. Super easy to blend with, and very sturdy even when applying pressure.

An EXCELLENT set of pastels, and especially so for the price!! If you purchase, you will be extremely happy with the variety and intensity of colors, as well as the variety within each hue. For example, the set includes SEVEN shades of Blue and SIX shades of red. All of them have fantastic pigmentation, are very soft and creamy, and lay down smoothly and easily. For the price I paid, I was very surprised and elated over the quality and variety of beautiful colors. I highly recommend these - you, too will be very happy and pleased with your purchase!!

Pretty good set, they are buttery. Just the palette colors are not towards portraits, it's most general selection. But I will patch the needed ones with individuals sennelliers

The colors in this is absolutely amazing. These pastels are super smooth and easy to use as well as fun! I can’t wait to learn more about using oil pastels!
