I re-ordered these... that says a lot for my 'seal of approval' for these polishing blocks. The quality and value they provide is fantastic. I use these for shining up old golf clubs to look like new.. and they work amazing in combination with a jewelry polishing wheel. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

After running a brief test on three bars, the green (super fine), "purple" (fine - looks pink to me), and black (super coarse). Changed buffer pads but kept same type of pad to test the compound and without being also affected by pad type. I used the coarse on a stainless steel part, the medium on a nickel alloy part, and find on a plastic piece. All did what I would call a good job without having to repeat apply compound more than once. Particularly happy with the stainless and plastic, as these are both difficult to get right without either not making much progress on stainless to burning the surface on plastic. I did take a sharper marker and label each bag from super coarse, extra coarse, coarse, fine, extra fine, and super fine so in the future, I know which is which. The color scheme is a bit different from other polishing compound bars I have, so I don't want to be left guessing six months from now when I need one for plastic, but grab something too coarse. One frustration is that two bars came broken. Given how they were shipped, and which ones they were (mixes in but not next to each other, and broken differently). If you work like I do, trying to apply some small piece to a spinning buffer wheel with gloves on is not worth the struggle. So that means I won't get full product use on those two. Other than that, I would say realize if you do a lot of polishing work, which I do, it's great to have a variety of compounds on hand, but these are small bars. Almost more like a sampler. But its a good way to test the product, then decide if you want bigger bars for more workload, and maybe which ones you really need, and which ones maybe not. Giver the price of less than $2.85/bar when I ordered mine, it is a fair deal to be able to test the product and at different levels of abrasive. Just realize each bar measures 1" X 3 ¼" X ⅝" thick. Personally, I would rather they had made them thicker, even if not quite as long, given they apparently aren't that hard to break. As a sample assortment, perhaps all you need if you just use a Dremel to do tiny polishing work, and not a larger 6" or larger buffing wheel like I do, it will probably keep you in good supply for a long time. For me, it is more of a sampler, and for long term, I need much larger bars - even larger than their 20oz (3.3oz/bar) size vs. this 16oz (2.7oz/bar). One other note: I have used 6inch buffing/polishing wheels sold by this same vendor, and I was happy with them. I'm not unhappy with this product. I'm glad I got to test it. But I would need much bigger bars to really the volume of work I do, and usually order by weight larger single bar weight.

Although I do mostly small wood working projects I have begun to experiment with Epoxy more and more. And I am discovering that instead of sanding I need to polish these projects to make them look amazing. I had a small container of Polishing compound included with one of my rotary tools and tried it with a soft Pad and it really made a difference. This kit comes with 6 blocks of compound with ascending or Descending levels of grit imbedded within. Making these a great addition to my finishing tool set. You can achieve an almost mirror like finish on your project by carefully progressing through the blocks and taking your time. They seem to last quite a while, I have used on 3 different projects and have hardly dented the amount included. I would guess I will run out of the Blue or the Green first as that is the finest level this kit has and you want the best possible finish on your projects.
