Can this be too hard for a 2 yr old.

No. The first week or so may be a lot of them watching you do it but my almost 2.5 year old has mastered this. He now sits by himself and puts together each puzzle in less than 3 minutes. We are looking into the other ones so he can keep challenging himself

What age is this for? Isn't this too easy for a 3 year old? I have a 1.5 and a 3 year old. I thought this would be good for my little one.

It is not too easy for a 3 year old at all. It requires a lot of matching colors, teaching corners and lining up the borders. The various pictures make it fun for everyone.

Does the puzzle come in a wooden box for easy storage?

The cubes are not made of wood, but there is a wooden tray that holds the blocks so that once you have turned the cubes to make a puzzle picture the result is kept in the tray.
