Wilton Tip Set, X-Large

Great set of decorating tips at a great price. These extra large tips make decorating cakes & cupcakes quick and easy. They make nice sized eclairs and cream puffs too. These are genuine Wilton tips, a brand you can trust. Getting three tips for about $6 is a heck of a deal, individually they generally sell for $4-$5 each. I wish I had these back when I needed to make cupcakes for all the kids in class for my sons birthday. The three tips: star, flower and round, cover the basic shapes and may be all the large tips you need. (This set would also make a nice gift for a beginning baker.)

I bought these tips to frost cupcakes and they worked so well I don't think I'll ever spread frosting on a cupcake with a knife again! I bought the Wilton tips because the metal is thick enough not to bend while handling them, unlike some of the cheaper tips I bought that did not hold their shape. They work well and clean easily.

These piping tips work well for doing cakes. I specifically ordered these to do rosettes on my daughters birthday cake. They are easy to clean.

Bought these to decorate cupcakes to look like roses and was easily able to do that with these tips. I am a self-taught baker but I am very pleased with how they turned out. These are nice quality and easy to use!

So far, I have used each of these tips and they give lovely definition for frosting. I am looking forward to finding different ways to use these tips.

I read on a bakery blog a few years ago to get the large swirl on cupcakes to use a 1M tip. I had never known there were tips larger than the standard ones. I loved it so much that I bought several 1M tips and several dedicated pastry bags cut to the larger tip size. Everyone is always impressed when you have piped on your frosting instead of messily spreading it around with a knife. I find piping to be much faster anyway, even with the time to fill and wash the bag. When I saw this tip set I knew I wanted to expand my collection. I also bought the large coupler so I could decorate using a batch of frosting and switch between the large tips. I also look forward to making drop flowers using both the regular and large tips using royal icing to have multiple sizes. I've been making borders with standard tips and if the bottom of the layer isn't iced perfectly it can show through, using a large tip will help make the border pop as well as hide more of the bottom area.

I'm new to baking and have never decorated a cake beyond dipping a knife in the plastic container of premade frosting then slapping it on the cake. However, after my 11 year old neice showed me how to put the cupler in the bag and add the tip I was off! My cake looked pretty good just making dots with the tips! I aim to have proper lessons and can't wait to decorate cupcakes and these will serve me quite well! I've purchased my disposable here as well and because of the great price I use them and the tips whenever possible on everything from deviled eggs to putting homemade lotion in jars and it looking so pretty! These are easy & well priced so almost anyone can give them a try- and I highly recommend you do!
