Right on the money
This is a pretty specific item and I don't know how many eyes it'll reach but I figured it may be beneficial to someone out there who has made a similar mistake as myself. I tend to overdo it with the cleaning of my Iwata HP C-plus. It was an investment and I want to keep it in top shape as I absolutely love the airbrush. In doing maintenance, I would remove the fluid nozzle quite often and, as I found out after the fact, I would over-tighten the very small and delicate threads with the provided wrench. Honestly, the wrench shouldn't be used for tightening the nozzle, but rather just to loosen it when removing.Anyways, I unfortunately overdid it and the nozzle tip broke off from the threads. So now I had a real dilemma on my hands: Not only a broken nozzle but the threaded end was firmly lodged in the airbrush. I lucked out. I have a very small philips screw driver and I applied firm pressure to the exposed end of the threads, which allowed me to back the broken end out of the gun. I payed right around 30 bucks for the replacement and at the time of this review, that was the best I could find online. The new piece works perfect and we're back in business. Not literally - I use the gun to paint models. Here's the advice I found online through digging around various forums: Only hand-tighten the nozzle, but before doing so, add a sealer to the threads. I used a liquid teflon tape product and applied it lightly with a toothpick. Others, I've read, use various waxes. Among the recommended waxes are bee's wax or a toilet ring. The idea, of course, is that you want something to create a sound seal, while allowing you to easily remove the nozzle if need-be.Lastly, you shouldn't need to remove the nozzle very often at all. I was going overboard and it turns out that this part doesn't really experience issues with build up and only needs cleaning after many hours of usage or if sputtering occurs. Again, this was info I discovered on a forum and offered by technicians for these things.
