Great Practice Chanter - Champagne at a Beer Budget! ;)
I am just starting piping at a very young 70 +. ;) I bought another cheapo brand x practice chanter (rosewood) for $15 which was as you might expect a real POS. Probably set me back a week or more of practice. This is a top shelf product. Great looking polypenco, very good looking, excellent workmanship. Great seller. It played fine with the Warnock reeds right out of the box and in tune. Finger holes are properly spaced, and counter sunk uniformly. I struggled with the cheapo other to get fingers in place and but the warnock was great the holes sealed this one no problems. I checked the spacing against the Shepherd chanter that I will use on my new pipes and they were 'right on' so no problems going back and forth. Do yourself a favor and get a good PC like this one and save yourself grief and $$$$ in the long run. Chanter, reeds and case for the price is unbeatable bargain. No-brainer if there ever was one.

Just starting out
I am just starting out learning to play the practice chanter and had ordered a cheaper model that had good reviews. I ordered this one a few weeks later - a bit more money, but I really like how the finger holes are more carved out to easily get your fingers to cover the holes completely. Like I said, I'm very new to the instrument, but I struggle with the reeds that came with it, not sure if that's me or the reeds. They were considerably harder to blow than the Gibson reed I purchased and I am having a very hard time getting good sound out of them. I put the Gibson reed in and got a good, easy tone. I watched a number of videos on reed care, but nothing helped with the 2 reeds that came with this chanter. I think I'll stick with the Gibson reed for now.

This is a great sounding chanter
While rearranging our home, my chanter got misplaced, so I purchased a cheap one while looking for my 30 year old chanter. Don't do this. The cheap one ( under $30.00) was junk. I still couldn't find my old one, so I purchased this chanter. What a difference. The fingering and sound were easy and great sounding. It's much better than the lost one. The cost of this much better practice chanter was more than worth it. You definitely get what you pay for. The delivery was very fast from Australia.

Wanted to take a crack at learning bag pipes and this was a great spot to start
Great spot to start if you are wanting to learn bagpipes. The instrument is very sturdy, strong and well made. It will most likely need a little wax on the hemp string to keep the string fresh and sliding well. the synthetic reeds are ok, and its nice that two are included. They seem to work well, not the best I have heard but I have not had as much time as I would like to play and I have not tried different reeds yet.

Great quality chanter
I am very happy with this product. I made the mistake years ago getting a cheap Chinese knock off. I got some sense now and decided to get the real thing and thought if this chanter is quality than the price seems reasonable. And since I have played it a few days I feel like it was money well spent. I'm a newbie piper but FW is recommended by many pros so I dont think you can go wrong with this one. The only thing I am not excited about is one of the 2 reeds seems to shut off and block air flow. WHICH MAY BE MY FAULT, maybe there is something I should do to it that I am unaware of, but the other Reed works fine. But I am a happy customer and recommend this chanter.

Great for the new player.
I just started playing. I’ve been practicing with an inexpensive wood chanter that I borrowed. It was so difficult to play that I was getting discouraged, but the difference with this one is incredible. I feel so much more motivated, and look forward to my daily practice after work.
