I have yet to buy any brand of shaper bit that I thought was of obvious poor quality, but something about Amana's products make me feel even more confident in my purchase. They look sharp, are sharp, and seem to stay that way. I think it would be a real outlier case if you got a poor one.

Works great on softer woods. It grabbed and pulled on the hickory.

Amana has always been a quality tool, and this is no exception. Good quality shaper bit; well-balance and quality carbide. I ran several hundred feet of MDF through this bit so far and it shows no signs of wear. Definitely a good carbide as MDF will easily kill anything less. Decently priced and should last a lifetime for most people. Don't waste your time (and safety) with cheap knock-offs.

Pricey but when you need a tool this large and nothing else will do.

Amana is one of the best on the market, professional grade. Don't buy the cheaper cutters, this one is great.
