It works beautifully for two to eight players and while smaller groups feel a little gentler larger groups are a delightful mess of hexes and mishaps that would make even the sanest wizard raise an eyebrow. Hex Effects excels in humour, interaction, and style. The "take that" elements add lively tension without ever feeling truly malicious. Its reliance on card draws keeps the game unpredictably entertaining and the lighter strategic depth makes it an inviting experience for both new and seasoned players. This game is a lot of fun and easy to learn! My copy had two dues hex machina cards in it that were exclusive to Kickstarter. Had to look up how to use them since they weren't in the directions. During my search of the rules for the card, Pillbox games released a statement that the cards rule was in the instructions but not included in the game lol. I just found that funny lol. The card quality is great! Will definitely be looking to get their other game.

A simple, yet fun game that is good for friends and family. It's a great filler game or also for when you don't have a lot of time and just need to scratch that gaming itch! The production value of the box and cards is excellent. The cards feel and look like they have a linen finish.

Simple game but fun! We play it at least once every game night, weekly. Wish there were an expansion for it. Great quality construction, easy instructions, nice artwork and theme.

Very fun and simple game. We played Side Effects and thought this was a fun spin on that game. The only downside is that the developer released a B&N exclusive with bonus cards you can’t get otherwise. I’m not gonna rebuy the game just for that but it makes this version seem less than…
