Vincent Van Gogh: The Complete Paintings Hardcover – July 15, 2015

In light of the ongoing Van Gogh exhibition in Tokyo Metropolitan Museum, I bought this book to edify myself regarding his mammoth ouevre and its long-lasting influence. This book covers the Post-Impressionist poster child's journey from the moment he breathed to the denouement of his short and tragic life as a tortured artist/man. The book is well-researched and written in an engaging narrative that is, for me, impossible to elicit boredom paired with beautiful photographs. (Although, I must say, it's quite annoying that some are not aligned with the pages it is mentioned. You have to go back and forth follow the author's description or narration).

章ごとのページ数が少なく（短くて10ページ、長くて25ページ）さらに絵がたくさんあるので文字数の実質は、それらの半分以下のページ数ぶんしかないから、どんどん読めてしまう。絵の美しいのはもちろんだが、読むうちにページ数が意外に早く伸びるのも、楽しい。それに、大事なことだが、よくわかる。明快だ。ドイツ語版もある。英語版と全く同じ。造本も、判型も、ページ数と巻末のカタログまで、同じだ。もちろん、絵のトーンも、同一である。

As someone who is not majoring in arts but just appreciate art and paintings, I really like it. Besides the photos there is some naration about van gogh life and inspiration for each paintings and also the appendix for names and paintings.

色んな絵が見れて楽しかった。只、言葉が分からないのが残念。

とても小さい。場所をとらないのでいいです。商品の寸法: 15 x 4.3 x 20.1 cm

アイコンの色味は結構ポップというか、彩度が高い感じになっています。が、実際の表紙はもっとくすんだ感じです。ちょっとがっかりしました。内容は普通のコンプリート本の最小版で、満足しています。

印刷もとてもきれいで時間をかけてゆっくり読ませてもらいます。

ゴッホファン必携でしょうね。
