Shop South Bend 5 Tine Fish Spear. Free delivery on eligible orders of £20 or more. Review: The tines worked well when spearing the head but a few suckers fell off when spearing the body as sucker bodies are a bit soft so the tines can't hold a large sucker when thrashing in that case so need to engage the skull. Review: I actually bought this to spike my lawn. I needed to seed small patches of dirt on my lawn without digging up the area. I needed something to create holes. I looked all over for a lawn tool, then I remembered seeing a spear in one of my fishing catalogs. After I added a wooden handle, this spear is very sturdy and really did the job. After about 20 or so patches, the barbs and points were still intact. If this product holds up in dirt, just image how it will hold up spearing fish. I highly recommend this product.

This is a pretty big head compared to all my buddies, but it is far superior. If you can stun the frog you won't miss with this tool. All my buddies say "it has a bigger blast radius!" I got 15 frogs in about 1 hour the other day and not one slipped off. The points are extremely sharp, and the barbs are still great. I'm sure with any sharp object you will have sharpen it after a lot of use, but 2 times out and about 60 frogs have met their maker. I couldn't be more pleased with this head.... Amazing quality, sturdy, sharp, and you don't have to worry about hitting rocks or anything. Stop reading this and just buy it. You will not be disappointed.

This South Bend 5 Tine Fish Spear is fairly well made. It is heavy tined and the tines are loops of heavy steel welded together, except for the center tine which is a single piece. The welding is well done to keep the tines in the pole attachment which is drilled and came with a small Bolt and Nut to keep the spear on the end of a wooden pole. The tines are not all that sharp but there is a barb on each tine which should keep a fish on until retrieved. This a good spear fork for the price of $6.39 delivered free. Note: Free shipping when purchased from Gatzies. Not eligible for Amazon Prime. I like it.
