A New Look at Organizations
Bolman and Deal offers a new perspective of looking and analyzing organizations. The frames can be used in practically any situation and context. I was a bit taken aback that the human resource frame and structural frame rated higher than the political and symbolic frame by leaders though. In my context, it would seem that the political and symbolic frame would rate higher. I guess that is where the research comes into play: the difference between perception and reality; the difference between what people say and do. The book offers an excellent read for anyone in administration, leadership or management.

we dislike boring and complicated textbooks
I ordered this textbook for my Policy Leadership class. As any student would agree with me, we dislike boring and complicated textbooks. Although I am halfway through the semester, I find this book very interesting to read thus far. It is an easy-read and the authors get straight to the point. Plus the case studies are of actual events that happened to large corporations which makes it easier to relate and understand.

Reframing Organizations
This is a good, no-nonsense book about the four dimensions of organizations. Bolman and Deal present the four frames in a cohesive manner and accompany each with examples from industry and education. This is no Polly Anna text about how organizations are suppose to be. The authors give examples of organizations that succeed and fail and provide the rationale for both. The text covers social, economic and political issues that effect organizations and their leaders. Perhaps the best part of the text is the section that "trains" the reader how to use the four frames according to the readers personality and work related circumstances.

Great library reference
I have suggested or purchased this book many times over the years (through the authors' many editions) for those who want to understand the framework of their organizations. This book is a library must for leaders or anyone in the organization who wants to navigate with better understanding of the whats, whys, and hows or his or her organization.

Reframing Organizations Text
I bought this text because it was required for my doctoral class. I am using it now and it has some excellent information. That is all I can say. Normally I would not have purchased this book to read. I bought it because it was required reading. It does have excellent information and while reading, found it interesting.

Good book, yellow pages
I purchased this book because it was required by one of the classes I am taking for my MBA program. I've read 3 chapters and so far it is an enjoyable textbook. It arrive within a week, just in time for my first class. My only concern is due to the pages being printed on a cheap, yellowish paper. I guess I couldn't ask for a better looking book being the price so low compared to the ones being sold at the University's bookstore...
