I bought the number one fine because my nails were too fragile. It helped.

My husband says these are stainless steel, but I don't know what the coating is. What I do know is that these are the best nail files I have ever owned. They are sturdy and I clean them with warm water and a dash of soap to keep them clean. I highly recommend these nail files. I won't use anything else ever since I found these!!!
