Works perfectly
Works great. I attached it to my Hercules dust extractor. I thought the adapters that came with it would fit, but obviously I had to order this adapter.

Good system with bad press
After a few years of getting too much sawdust in my lungs, and being too lazy to tape a hose in place on different dust ports, I decided I should do something to make dust collection easier. Dewalt seemed to be including their airlock system on the newer tools, and it checked all the boxes (no more single use taping; letting the hose spin freely). I know there's a lot of confusion around how to make it work with the adapters, so while the star rating is for this product, what follows is a summary and brief review of all the pieces I know of in the system (not including the many geared toward concrete drilling). Overall, it seems like a great system with too little up front help to get the right parts. Hopefully this helps everyone's lung health. Collectors- DWV9000 Universal Connector This is the piece that attaches to your collection hose. It threaded onto my Shop Vac hose well, but takes a small amount of force the first time to start the threads. You may have to trim the hard plastic end of the hose some, but it attaches well to all the airlock tools and adapters. N273733 Dust Bag Since the dust bags that came with the tools would no longer work, I bought an airlock dust bag for when I wasn’t using the vacuum. I believe it is the same one that comes with the newer sanders. There's an odd design choice here. The dust bag fits well on specific tool adapters and tools with airlock built into them, but it didn't fit any of the generic adapters. They are 3/16th of an inch too long on the airlock side. I ended up trimming 3/16th of an inch off the adapters I attached to the sander and miter saw and then it worked fine. Specific Tool Adapters- DCP580 20V MAX Brushless Planer - Has an airlock port molded right into the body, no adapter needed. DWE575DC - Airlock port for circular saws. Fits the DCS570 well. DWB-N564892/DWB-N575480 - Airlock dust shoot & shield for DCS334 and DCS335 jigsaws. For some reason these were not released in the US. I've trying ordering them online, but don't have them to comment on yet. General Airlock Adapters- DWV9170 1.25 inch adapter This is what you would use to connect your airlock hose back to old Shop Vac size accessories. Seems slightly loose for the 1.25 inch friction fit. I might wrap a bit or tape around it to make it more snug. DWV9140 2-1/4 inch adapter This fits the main port on the DWE7491 table saw well. DWV9130 and DWV9150 35mm adapters These are the same size, but one is straight and one is angled. They both fit well on in the dust port on the DW716 miter saw, the blade guard port on the DWE7491 table saw, the dust port on the D26453 sander, and all the ports on the DNP615, DNP616, DW6913 accessories for Dewalt routers. The straight one is questionable with the clearance on the DW6913 and would probably get in the way on the DNP615 and DNP616. I ended up using the straight one on the table saw, the angled one on the miter saw (after trimming off 3/16th of an inch), and keeping an angled one in with the router. DWV9160 1 inch permanent adapter This one took me a minute to figure out. It has a removable metal toothed washed inside and is meant to be hammered onto a 1 inch port and never come off. It would fit the dust port on the D26453 sander, and the ports on the DNP615 and DNP616 accessories for Dewalt routers. I didn't use it for the router because a straight port would get in the way. I used this one (after trimming off 3/16th of an inch) to permanently convert the D26453 sander. DWV9110 and DWV9120 These are both two part adapters. They have the same hard plastic end that connects to the airlock on one side and screws into the rubber part on the other side. They might fit some Dewalt tools, but the other options are better. The DWV9120 fits the WEN drywall sander well (bypassing the hose that came with it). I haven't found a use for the DWV9110 yet. Other airlock accessories I don't have- DWV9180 Converts from airlock to screw threads. It seems to be for a Porter Cable drywall sander. DWV9315 and DWV9316 These are billed as replacement hoses for the Dewalt dust extractors, but I think (not sure) that they have male and female airlock ends and can be used as airlock extension hoses. There also seems to be an airlock Y-hose that wasn't released in the US. DWH200D Interesting dust collection for Dewalt drills. The end doesn't look like airlock, but it is according to the product information. DWV2759B and DWV2759 Airlock cleaning accessories.

My quest to use a Bissell upright as a dust collector...
I thought this would be pretty simple: Attach a Bissell vacuum that no longer works on floors to my new Dewalt orbital sander. I tried taping a connection without success, so I searched for another solution. The “Universal Adapter” seemed the obvious answer. It wasn’t. It got me closer, but I was very disappointed that my purchase didn’t work. The Bissell end was too loose in the adapter end. I ended up adding the two-part DWV9120 to the DWV9000 adapter, though not quite as intended, and was able to make the connection between the universal attachment and my vacuum hose. Please see my review if the DWV9120 for a complete description. It’s impractical and inconvenient to purchase two additional pieces and STILL had to make a modification. A simple “ O”-ring solved the problem! The piece is well made and fits the sander well.

Works great going from Dewalt 20V sander to my Festool
I am a woodworker and own a variety of sanders, dust extraction is an important safety aspect of woodworking Dewalt overlooked this aspect when designing this sander. The dust bag is easy to install and remove but unfortunately does little to collect sawdust. This is evident when you turn on the sander and see a cloud of sawdust spit out from the machine, to make matters worse the connector for the bag is proprietary and a standard vacuum hose will not fit over this. I got tired of wearing a dust mask while sanding and wanting to improve my safety I picked up a Festool CT 15 dust extractor. This works great for my Bosch 6 inch dual mode sander but would not fit my Dewalt that I use for my final finish sanding. after taping the hose to the bag connector I was about ready to switch to a bosch sander when I came across this connector and decided to give it a chance. This thing works great, my festool hose slides right into it and stays tight, yet is easy to remove when I need to switch between sanders. This little connector is overpriced for what it is, but it's worth every penny. My sander no longer spits out a cloud of dust every time I turn it on, and it will prolong the life of the battery as well. Would I buy again? Yes I would, it's solid enough that I should never have to though.

Fits DWS779 Miter Saw and 20v Max XR Orbital Sander
I purchased this to assist in dust collection with my DWS 779 miter saw and my Dewalt 20v orbital sander. Note that one end is intended to slip onto the tool and then twist-lock into place. You need to check the tool to see where the groove is for this adapter to lock into. Once you line up the groove on the tool with the internal ballbearings in the adapter, you just twist the locking mechanism and you're done. The other side threads onto a smaller vacuum hose. This won't work with the 2 1/2" hose that came with your shop vac. If you're going to use this with a shop vac, purchase the 2 1/2" adapter that Dewalt makes. This will thread into that additional adapter and then the additional adapter can be attached to a 2 1/2" hose. You may need one of those hose clamp covers to get a good seal as between the hose and 2 1/2" adapter, but it'll work. This can be a little confusing, but if you're patient and pay attention, you can get yourself set up with some decent dust collection and save your lungs. Worth the discounted price I paid of around $15. I wouldn't pay more.

I have not used this on a sander before. It really reduces the dust in the room and there is no going back to a sander without it, A good companion for working with a Henry hoover, use the better quality bags. Well designed and a no brainer, Good way to keep you healthy with very little dust in the air. A little expensive but works with the Black Decker orbital sander and their Palm Sander, Thoroughly recommend this product,
