Simple, works perfectly
A must for serious condenser mics. Small, simple, does exactly what it should for almost no money. The extra cable is a nice touch.

Low cost power supply
I like that is it simple to use, plug and play-one, power switch on the front. It seems to be fairly transparent in sound quality. If does seem to have a long (I'm not sure of the correct term-) electrical storage capacity. Once you turn it off/power it down it continues to power the mic for a period of time. If you don't want any clicks/pops or shorts in the mic or interface/device it's attached to, power that down or wait for the power light on the power supply to fade out, and let the power dissipate.

Basic but Versatile
This unit is a basic 48 Volt Phantom Power supply for use with condenser microphones. I purchased the USB model intentionally so as to have the greatest number of powering options. I have powered the unit via a computer USB port, a battery pack, and via a small iPhone charger. Having these options allows me easily to use the unit with an amplifier that has no phantom power, either in the studio or on stage with different power sources. As far as I can tell, there is no noise introduced into the audio signal. I haven't been able to determine whether the audio from the microphone actually is sent down the USB cable to the computer when it is plugged in as my computer is not set up for a USB microphone. Overall, I'm pleased with the unit as far as the quality and especially the price, but it is the USB power that makes it so versatile.

functional
I do live recording. My zoom 12 recorder has phantom power but it does not seem to pass through thru the splitter snake with enough amperage to work... I Purchased 2 of these to resolve and give isolation between my recording board and venue sound board. I Opted for usb powered over internal batteries and am using a 2000 miliamp power brick to power both. You can place close by and not worry about finding an outlet with this option... As to the phantom power supplies they work, a bit disappointed they were all plastic, just don't have a pro rugged feel to them. but when you're lugging gear in and out of venue ever oz adds up...still I'd prefer metal housings.

Made all the difference with the AK-80 I bought a week prior.
I bought the Aokeo AK-80 a week earlier than this to use for podcasting. I have a Realtek HD soundcard in my computer, so I knew it had enough voltage to run the microphone without a power supply. I was right, but I had to have the boost turned up to 30dcb to hear anything which killed audio quality a little bit and gave a high pitching ringing in the recording. Mind you, this was all still LOADS better than the USB cardioid mic I bought at Walmart that picked up my mouse, my keyboard, my daughter, the TV, my neighbors dog, the traffic light crosswalk beep, you get the point. I decided to add the power supply because why not, it's another $12. It made a world of difference, no more boost, no more ringing, better response to my soundcards settings especially noise suppression. Overall I'd say for podcasting this power supply and microphone are the best low cost, entry-level options out there. Nothing else I've tried even comes close to these two as far as audio quality and background noise reduction go.

Nope.
The female XLR receptacle is defective. Any movement of of the cable results in a scratchy signal. Worthless.
