Amazing
This might be the first time someone has bought anything like this for the reason I bought mine - it's for a traditional Native American ceremonial roundhouse. No, it's not for water fights or for any ceremonial purpose. It's for fire prevention. From years of keeping large, hot fires going inside the roundhouse, the ceiling's support beams are at risk of catching fire. It almost happened last summer. We don't have any running water at the roundhouse and a conventional fire extinguisher couldn't reach the problem area. It's too high up and too difficult to reach without stepping into a very hot fire. Originally I was going to buy a traditional Super Soaker type water gun, but they all share a common problem: they need to be reloaded when they run out of water. This could be catastrophic in a fire. Then I discovered the Stream Machine, I've only had it one day so I can't attest to its durability, but its operation is impressive I don't expect it to reach the 70 feet the manufacturer claims, but mine sends a very powerful stream of water about forty feet effortlessly. That's more than enough for me. The big advantage of the Stream Machine for me is that if one of those high beams does catch fire, as long as I have a container of water handy, I can keep reloading the Stream Machine, with each reload taking just seconds. Judging from other reviews, the main risk to the Stream Machine's durability is when sand gets mixed in with the water. This shouldn't be a problem for my situation. It will be kept handy for emergency use in the roundhouse, but will never go anywhere near a beach or river (unless I decide to take it out and have some fun with it someday!). If any problems develop, I'll post an update.

works great!
great stream of water without too much effort. i'm elderly and got this to discourage squirrels from eating every fruit on my trees and also to deter my pit bull from excessive barking at passing dogs. i haven't tried it on squirrels but my dog stopped barking just feeling the mist from the stream. he was 60 ft. from where i was standing and i only shot half the amount in the tube but it almost reached him. he just got slightly damp from the mist and the surprise element is what he needed. i don't want to drench him or any squirrels, just startle them to stop what they are doing. easy to load and shoot.

High powered water Gun
This is a very basic and powerful squirt gun. There is no priming or pumping required, it's ready to go instantly if you have a water source nearby. It doesn't have a water tank, you just dunk it in the river or a bucket and it draws in a full load of water as you pull the handle back, then it launches it out the opening in the front with as much force as you push on it. If you push lightly it won't go very far, but if you crank on it, it easily shoots 50 feet in a controlled stream of water that pretty much blasts anything or anyone caught in the path. Reload time is about 2-3 seconds. Note: Don't suck in rocks or sand or you can clog up the piston inside making it push hard. I tried the double barrel version, it looks neat and puts out 2x the water but it also pushes twice as hard so the single tube shoots farther and easier. I recommend the single tube 24" version which is actually 22.5" overall with a 17" barrel. I have 3 of these and I think a 27" model would be perfect, but they don't make that size. The 24" (really a 17" barrel) seems a bit short and the 36" can be unhandy since it's rather long. The fit between the internal plunger and the barrel seems good on most samples which provides smooth operation but one I bought doesn't fit too good so it requires more pushing to overcome internal friction. They could do better in this regard but most seem ok. So, keep the sand out and this watergun should blow away the competition for quite some time. Mr_D

The gun worked great, but I was still hoping for a longer ...
When I ordered a 22" gun I expected a 22" barrel on this gun. It wasn't as long as I expected or hoped. The gun worked great, but I was still hoping for a longer gun to be able to reach a longer distance. When I went back to the site I see that the barrel is only 17", not 22". Apparently the 22" includes the handle, a detail I probably should have included. In all, the gun shot great, but was hoping for the full 22" barrel. The description got me a little confused.

Launches a terrifying stream of water
If you have a dog, even a well-behaved dog, that has a strong prey drive, as most dogs do. Or worse yet, a dog that is a convicted cat killer, nothing says, "don't chase cat," like lurking, and waiting for dog to display cat chasing behavior and only then surprising dog with your "Stream Machine Water Gun Launcher - Single Barrel Water Blaster," then this is the most humane disciplinary action that you can take against that strong prey drive. I think it is important to think this through, never ever spray your dog with "Stream Machine Water Gun Launcher - Single Barrel Water Blaster," unless you are actually witnessing the behavior before it happens. If you do, your dog will think that you are punishing it, for no specific reason, and you will still have a problem. If you plan this right, you will only ever have to spray your dog once, and never use it again. After all of this, please seek professional help in training your dog, not to attack cats that wander into your dog's territory.

Works.. Shoots large water spray 60-70 feet. Easy and fast reload.

This is a fantastic product but, with its 3/8" opening, uses up a lot of water in one shot. To overcome this I modified the aperture opening to half this size by simply inserting some bicycle chainring spacers (a double & a triple). The only extra thing I did was to use a little 'Shoe Goo' on the inside to ensure a good seal. The pistols shoot over 45' and I get 3 shots per filling (and they don't leak if stored flat). The guns are used to persuade large Cockatoo parrots to leave our bird feeding trays so that our smaller visiting parrots can also get a feed and they've been very effective in this regard. An excellent product with or without this slight modification.

This is perfect for chasing away an unwanted cat. After a few blasts right in the face I think it got the message that the corner of my house isn’t its personal toilet bowl/scratching post. I keep the water gun by the front door anyway, in case it comes back.
