I have had these in my home since we moved in nine years ago. We have floor vents and I wanted something nice looking. These come in a variety of colors, sizes and designs. You get the cage that fits inside the vent and the decorative cover. They just set down in the opening. There is a small tab to open and close them if needed. One thing to pay attention to is measuring. You need to measure the opening, not the cover. I speak from experience when I reordered. They are a good value for the money.

Absolutely beautiful! A wonderful addition to our restored 1900 home but would be a lovely alternative to the standard slatted grates in just about any home.

It seems a little cheap light metal but love the look and the function. I guess I am just use to the OLD heavy metal ones. Super easy to install just remove the old one, and place the new one in the hole. If you measured right it will slip in and be perfect.

I originally bought this to replace a rusting "boring" one in my bathroom. (2020~2022) I liked the design and option to add a filter. And it was comparable in price to an exact replacement. That was the extent of my criteria in the original replacement. Since then, my husband forget I replaced the original metal one and asked why the one in the bathroom was different from the rest of house. After jogging his memory, the tells me I should replace all the ones in the house with this type. He feels it does a better job controlling air flow than the others (open, shut, directional). He likes that it is easier to open-close AND ease to latch and unlatch without it coming unlatched unintentionally. (The old metals ones are a pain to adjust, he was afraid replacements would be too loose.) He likes that it isn't painted (metals ones, paint is chipping). He feels it is more durable than the old ones (kids banged up the metal one in the bathroom and their rooms). He does NOT "burn" his foot on it in the winter, nor 'freeze' his foot in the summer. He likes he can wash it without worrying about it rusting (or bathtub water doing the same thing). When I showed him the filter option, he was looked at me like that was the most important feature and I should have led with that. (Our kids are always dropping stuff down their vents). I need to get a ladder and measure the wall vents next.
