Already my all-time favorite! Quite a bit better than Hanz De Fuko Claymation
Only been using Shear Revival Northern Lights for about a month, and it's already my favorite hair styling product I've ever used. Previously I tried Hanz De Fuko's Claymation, but never liked it all that much, it was a little too hard, and left specks in the hair. Northern Lights is much easier to apply, holds just as well if not better. You also get 3.4 oz with Northern Lights, and only 2oz with Claymation/many other hair styling products, so this is economical as well as being an A+ product. I am a bit sensitive to scents/smells, but I love the subtle smell of Northern Lights. It's a subtle pleasant lemony kind of scent. Definitely helps with volume and leaves my hair feeling healthy, I don't even feel the need to wash it out at the end of the day (depends on how much you use, perhaps). I'm very happy with this, and I think I'll keep using Northern Lights for the rest of my life as long as it's still available.

Good Matte Paste for Hair Type that is Fine and Silky
This matte paste works with my hair type, which is fine and silky, requiring texturizing. It has good hold and produces a lot of good volume for my hair type. It won't have the strongest hold if the weather is very humid/windy, but in general it has good hold. There finish is a matte and not shiny appearance. Easy to apply, but you need to gently rub it in the palms first. The product was as described and the transaction was smooth.

Still a Favorite, but This Batch Feels Different
This has always been one of my favorite hair products because of its firm hold, matte finish, pleasant scent, and how easily it washes out. It normally performs consistently and keeps my hair in place without feeling heavy. However, with this purchase, the texture feels slightly different than what I’m used to, and the scent is much less noticeable. It still works well overall, but the change was noticeable compared to previous jars. Hopefully this was just a batch variation, as it’s usually an excellent product.

Excellent product- great hold, non-greasy, natural feel
I love this product, and I've been searching for a long time. I've tried paul mitchell, hanz de fuko, jack henry, and lots of other top tier brands, and none compare to Shear Revival. I have fine to medium hair, and this product offers solid hold with a natural, matte look. It will shift throughout the day, particularly since it is formulated with natural botanical ingredients, but what I love is that you can restyle it at any time and it will regain hold and style. With other products, like Paul Mitchell's clay, it is so thick and sticky that you can barely style your hair in the first place. I've also found that if I don't shower immediately the day after, I can throw a little more product in and restyle my hair without having to rinse it, which is a big plus. I'll sometimes have some morning meetings before getting a workout it, and it's nice to be able to quickly get my hair looking presentable without having to rinse, dry, restyle, etc. The classy glass jar doesn't hurt either. If you're on the fence, I'd say this product is worth giving a shot!

A little too overhyped?
Packaging of the product is great. Comes in a class jar, fits nicely in the palm to be able to scoop out. Label is nice and branding is nice. It's nice to leave out on the shelf. The actual product did not impress me much. I think ordering from Amazon isn't the best idea, I think my seller had it on the shelf too long. Upon opening the jar, the smell was fantastic. Not overpowering and the scent only lasts a couple of hours in the hair after applying. Scooping it out takes a while. Maybe because I live in colder weather and my bathroom is about 65 degrees, but even after working the paste and warming it up, it's still difficult to scoop. Again, maybe it's because it's an old product. I'm able to soften it up, work it between my palms and get a waxy/paste texture. Applying to my hair isn't as smooth as most people mention. My hair is between medium and thick, and slightly wavy. While it does hold REALLY well, it gives a really oily feel. Yes, I can run my hands through my hair, but leaves my hands feeling a oily, which is strange because it's water based. This does not wash out of my hair very easily. I can feel the product when I shower. I don't like washing my hair every day, And figure some buildup is ok. This product builds up quick. If I don't wash my hair for 2 days while using this product, my hair gets really greasy and weighed down. I'm not overusing the product, like maybe a dime side scoop at most. Maybe it's the soft water where I live that's not stripping away the paste very well, maybe it's the product being a little bit older. Either way, when I do get a good soft scoop out of the jar, it still doesn't seem to impress me.

Believe The Hype
I’ve seen all of the hyped Youtube reviews on Northern Lights Shear Revival Matte Paste and was looking forward to trying it. Now, after wearing/using it, the hype is real. This is as legit of a matte paste as there is...period. It has superb ingredients, awesome (very light citrus and earthy) scent, scoops out nice and easy, is creamy with some slight stickiness, breaks down quickly into hands, applies smoothly, responsive/puts and leaves my hair exactly where I want it, provides killer texture, and has a true matte finish with firm hold. It is also very light in my hair, which is a huge plus. Checks all of the boxes in my book. I have short, wavy, wiry hair and if you have this same hair type I definitely recommend applying to towel dried hair (as directed on the jar) vs. blow drying. I have been using with Aveda or Label M thickening tonic as my pre-styler . Also, this stuff starts drying right away so be sure to get your style set quickly.

Fantastic product
Love the product, and love that a solid brand like Shear Revival is able to ship this quick with Amazon! The texture of the product is great, the hold is solid, and the smell is a 10/10!
