Best Buy for Versatility CQR Tactical Pants
Love the CQR tactical pants I purchased last year 2024; mostly pair them with loafers or a polo for business casual settings, or with boots and a t-shirt for leisure to maximize their versatility. For Leisure my CQR tactical pants outperform dress slacks and jeans due to their durability, water resistance, lightweight breathability, and extensive pocket storage. For Business Casual Office Wear my CQR pants match the polished look of slacks in neutral colors while offering superior comfort, mobility, and utility. Overall my CQR tactical pants provide a unique blend of style, comfort, and functionality, making them highly versatile for both leisure and business casual contexts compared to the more specialized dress slacks (formal, less durable) and jeans (casual, less functional).

Fit is perfect and they stay on.
Sizes are spot on. Flex waist and legs allows for lots of stuff in all the pockets. Perfect weight for Arizona summers.

CQR - 3 different styles reviewed
Compared to a lot of the more popular brands of cargo hiking pants I’ve tried, I like the CQR pants better. For hiking, outdoors, and utility, most pants lack enough pockets, and they look silly. The Columbia Silver Ridge has good pockets, functionality, and light-weight material, but they’re floppy and don’t look nice. The CQR Sierra pants have good functionality and they look really nice!I’ve tried the following CQR styles, and here are my first impressions:►TLP125 Tactical Duratex Mag PocketPro: I love all the pockets, and the fact that some of them zip or otherwise close to secure contents. And I like the little metal rings on the front to clip items on. They look pretty cool except for the bellbottom bagginess.Con: I don’t like that they’re so baggy and especially the bellbottom legCon: I don’t like the elastic band waistCon: The material feels heavier, not as good for travel/hiking/backpackingCon: The heavier material also seems like it will be hotter and not very quick to dry if it gets wetCon: When bending and squatting down, the pants pull down and gap open in the back, creating the “plumber reveal.” I think the elastic waistband might be contributing to this. I also think they’ll be constantly sliding down if wearing with a backpack when hiking.►TXP900 SierraPro: I like that these have a more tapered leg and slim-fit. Looks much nicer.Pro: I like the lighter weight material (compared to the TLP125), with a little stretch for ease of bending.Pro: I like the waistband and specifically that there is not an elastic band bunching as with the TLP125 (And does not pull down and gap as much on the backside when squatting down, to create the “plumber reveal,” as does the TLP125.) The Sierra waistband should also work better when backpacking, and not slide down as much.Con: I wish there were more of the pockets, including pockets that can zip and close securely as with the TLP125.►TXP901 SedonaPro: Similar to the Sierra, it has lighter weight material and little more of a slim fit than the TLP125Pro: I like that there were at least 2 zip thigh pockets.Con: I didn’t like the split/double back pockets so much. They look odd, and reduced the size of a full back pocket. So I think I prefer the Sierra.Con: While slimmer than the TLP125, it looked a little more baggy than the Sierra and the bottom of the leg flared out a little more. So I like the slim fit look of the Sierra better between the two.I wish there was a model that had the lightweight material of the Sierra, a slim fit, tapered leg, the waistband of the Sierra (no elastic bunching band like the TLP125). But that it had more of the pockets as on the TLP125.I’d like to find a model that married the best of both styles. Is there model like that? Also I’d like to know if these CQR pants have a UPF rating - I couldn’t find it in the specs, and would prefer UPF 50+.

Great fit and comfortable
I hate our duty pants at our department so I bought these. The first pair I received fit great and were very comfortable but the stitching and the helm was broken and the bottoms were unfolding so I did a replacement request and CQR immediately shipped another pair to replace them. After that kind of customer service I ordered 2 more green pair and a grey pair for the department I work at part time. If you’re looking for comfortable duty pants that are slim fit in the thighs but not skinny jeans at the leg openings (they actually go over your shoes) these are a great buy. Will continue to order these for duty pants.

It does the job
Feels light yet durable. It’s not completely , more like a graphite. I would still recommend.

Collect dirt like a magnet
I love their ripstop cargo pants but I really do not like these very much. The fit is good but there are problems. The front pockets are too shallow, and the pants are very hot when you wear them. The worst thing is how they pickup and show dirt. They are a dirt magnet--even if you try to brush the dirt off of them, it still shows. I really wanted to like these but they are hotter and show dirt far more than their rip-stop carge pants. Disappointed.
