Great product! We can genuinely tell a difference in our skin, hair, nails, and joints. Our favorite way to use it is mixed into hot beef or chicken broth-Kettle & Fire bone broth is our go-to. It dissolves incredibly easily in warm broth, has no taste, and you wouldn't even know it's there if you didn't add it yourself. It's also great in smoothies. We've tried many collagen products over the years, and this is by far my favorite. After about two months of use, my family actually asked if I had something done cosmetically because my skin looked younger and healthier-which I hadn't. The only change I made was switching to this collagen. I also take vitamin C to support absorption and astaxanthin, which pairs beautifully with collagen. I work in healthcare and have researched a lot of supplements. There are some good products out there-and plenty that are a waste of money. This one truly works, and I confidently recommend it to others.

I have to address this one simple thing before going forward. COME ON, do you really think collagen is vegan or vegetarian? True collagen is ONLY sourced from animals or marine life. Not fair to rate 1 star for not knowing what you were purchasing. The info is all right in the description! bovine! chicken! I chose AlgaeCal over other collagen supplements because it uses patented specialized sources such as fortigel, fortibone, verisol, and UC-ii. It is worth looking each up to understand more about it. It was truly the selling point for me, and had I not learned of all this ahead of time, I doubt I would have chosen this brand. Especially look into it if have bone, joint, cartilage issues. A great starting spot is to look for "Gelita", and then from the main page drop down the "products and brands" menu where you will find detailed info on each one. As for UC-ii, you will have to do separate search. If just looking for hair, skin, nails booster, then try a product that just uses Verisol (VitalProteins used to include it in their forumula, not sure if they still do). If older and looking for help with bone, tendon, joint help along with skin, hair, nails, then this AlgaeCal offers a lot. I had been using NativePath Bone collagen which I think it good, but it just uses fortibone. I switched to AlgaeCal because it offers so much more. However, since these formulas are extra pricey, I sometimes swap back and forth (ie, use Algaecal majority of week, then the other days use another brand). Overall amount of collagen protein may seem low compared to other brands. I looked into this. The sweet spot is exactly where they have it as far as this type of formula (using science backed verisol, fortibone, fortigel). Take note that the servings per container is "about 30". So NOT 30, unless you use less than the directed dose. Directed dose is 1 scoop. Which is ABOUT 1.5 tablespoons. Dont use a level scoop, just a hint under. A FULL 30 day supply is preferred, and I dont know why they dont just do it that way. But I dont downrate as this info is clearly seen in the product pics and description. WHILE I dont have known bone, joint, cartilage issues at this time, I am about 50 years old, and am thinking ahead. I have been using collagen consistently for well over a decade (before hydrolyzed options came on the scene!). Maybe lack of issues (despite not being in shape at all) can be attributed somewhat to consistent collagen use? Anyway, So what got me to take a closer look at this is that I had been doing some info gathering for my 74 years old mom who has bone/tendon/cartilage issues. I found this brand and recommended it to her. She didnt start it, but I decided to buy it for myself. I have been using it since the beginning of 2025. Again, I cant attest to the more hidden aspects(bone,tendon,etc) but I can say that my hair has improved, and my skin has a boosted look. Again, I have been using collagen for a very long time so I may be ahead of things in that regard, or perhaps wouldnt notice a big change. But I am pleased enough to keep using this product, and have been buying it every time it is on sale. Then just yesterday my mom and I were talking about supplements that should be taking. I mentioned again "collagen peptides". She says she consumes some, but hates it based on smell and taste. I figured she was buying something that happened to have noticeable smell and taste. So I got up, grabbed my container of AlgaeCal and had her smell it. She was super surprised that it has no smell. Then I made her a cup of coffee and added this in, and she drink some, and again was surprised to not notice any taste. She had just assumed that collagen was gross smelling and tasting! THEN she went on her phone app. and immediately ordered a 3 pack of this product. I said, now to really take this over the top, be sure to take some Hyaluronic acid (also not vegan, lol) and vitamin C. Adding those in helps with collagen synthesis and hydrating the skin (hyaluronic works much better from the inside than just applying topically). SOME collagen products will include these 2 supplements, but this AlgaeCal does not. So I take toniiq hyaluronic acid which also happens to have some vitamin C. But when I want a good boost of vitamin C, I use NativePath liposoma vitamin C liquid or a capsules such as microingredients lipsomal vitamin c OVERALL, I like it, I keep using it, it mixes seamlessly into my coffee or matcha tea. I use a handheld frother to blend it real quick. No stomach issues.

Tasteless, mixes easily in small glass of water. Nice balance of ingredients. No side affects. Fair price for high quality well-researched brand.

The only reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is because I'm waiting to see if it will affect my bone density score. And to be fair, I can't really see a difference in skin tone from the Verisol collagen. However, this collagen product dissolves easily and has absolutely no taste which makes it great for smoothies and adding in to yogurt and other foods. It also has not upset my tricky tummy. Clinical trials on the 4 peptides was also why I chose this particular brand over dozens of others.

Consistency is key. This stuff actually works for fine lines and wrinkles. Combined with Algae Cal bone builder pack I have seen a significant increase in bone density over the past year. Have been using daily mixed with coffee for 14 months. It dissolves easily and provides added protein.

I want to say that the review done by Precise Disarray is on point (top rated review). She mentions the manufacturer of these specialized collagens and touches key information! Please read her review! I want to add one thing about UC-II. There is a study you can research that tells you the exact information as well! UC-II is type II collagen (from chicken) and is a better supplement than glucosamine/chondroitin. BUT if you have GI trouble or any side effects from glucosamine and/or chondroitin, the study found that UC-II does present with the identical side effects. That is the only reason we discontinued use. I bought it for my Mom to try and it caused significant GI issues and I didn’t know about the study beforehand. We’re going back to the other brand (Healthy Bones Co.) she tolerated well. Despite that, this is a wonderful product! I’m a perimenopausal woman and my Mother is post. She thankfully doesn’t have skeletal issues but does have some ligament/tendon problems so the Tendoforte will help continue to help with that. We’re trying to make stronger bones to prevent falls and subsequent fractures and breaks like she saw with her own Mother. This product is colorless. It has no detectable odor and is incredibly potent. Mixed with a hot beverage or room temperature clear protein (put the ice in AFTER you blend with a frother) it has no noticeable flavor. Please do your research. Then make an informed decision based upon your needs!

I’ve tried various forms and brands of collagen supplements. AlgaeCal is the only one that hasn’t caused me to become constipated. I’ve been taking a scoop daily for approx 6 months. It dissolves well in my coffee, hot or cold and it’s tasteless which is great. A year ago my DEXA score was -3.5 lumbar and-3.2/3.3 hips. I am waiting to see the results of a BMD scan I had a couple of days ago to see if my score improved since taking this collagen product. I thought it would help to thicken my hair and nails but it hasn’t. If however my bone mineral density is improved that would be amazing and I’ll update my review and give it 5 stars.

I’ve been taking ALGAECAL Collagen consistently, and I’m genuinely impressed with the results. After a few months, I started noticing new hair growth along my hairline and less shedding overall, which was a huge win for me. My hair also feels stronger and healthier. I appreciate that this formula uses clinically supported collagen peptides, and it’s easy on my stomach compared to other collagen products I’ve tried. As a bonus, my nails feel stronger and my skin looks more hydrated too. This has become a staple in my daily routine, and I plan to keep using it.
