It's GREAT!
This mower is fantastic! It was simple to put together and is very straight forward to operate. I am mowing 2.5 acres of rough, uneven, hilly ground that we call our yard. After my husband's passing I found I can't start either of our two recoil start mowers, including the one with the "Easy Start" logo right next to the handle for the recoil starter. It didn't take long to realize that the closest neighbor was going to get real tired of me asking him to start the thing every time I had to put more fuel in the tank! Our son has an EGO mower that he has used for several years now. He thinks a lot of his, so I didn't spend a lot of time looking at other makes and models. This model seemed to be a good fit for me. Since it came with the rapid charger and two batteries, i figured I wouldn't have a whole lot of down time waiting for a battery to recharge so I could keep mowing. Just because the weather is good right now, it doesn't mean it's going to be good in an hour or so as I waited for the battery to recharge. At least, that was the logic I was using. I watched the grass growing as I awaited the arrival of my new machine. And I worried if it was getting to be more than I should ask any mower to chew through. A lot of our grass is "thread and needle" which sends up many tough seed stalks on each clump of grass. When the mower arrived, I was thrilled by how easy it was to put together. Most of it was pre-assembled. I put one of the batteries into the charger and found both were at 75% so almost fully charged right out of the box. Adjusting the handle bar was easy and the mower deck height was even easier with it's simple one and done lever right on top of the mowing deck! Then came the moment of truth. Push in the start button and pull the bale back and presto! Starting was a breeze. I was immediately impressed with how quiet this machine runs. Yes, it does make some sound, but you could carry on a conversation if somebody wanted to walk along! Wow! What a difference! I was also impressed that mowing with this mower in mulch mode isn't as dirty a job as it is with any other mower I've used. This EGO keeps everything pretty well contained where all the chewing is taking place rather than scattering it everywhere. NICE! I started out in a section of yard that is relatively level and not as rough as a lot of what I had to cut and I found this mower to be nimble and easy to navigate. It pushes very lightly in most circumstances. I discovered that, even when you have to back up to work your way around something, it's easy to handle. A tip I'd read in the operator's manual said that if it pulls backward hard, just push it forward a little and then pull it backward. I'm no engineer, so why that works I can't say. I can attest to the fact that it does work beautifully. Backing the mower up is just as easy as going forward. Now let me tell you about it's self propelled feature. It's more than happy to assist you on the grades. Simply engage the trigger on the right and away you go! Use the lever on the left to adjust it to your walking speed. When that required me to do longer uphill climbs, I found I don't walk as fast as I do on the level, but it's easy to adjust on the move as the need arises. Most of the time I didn't use the self propulsion and that's probably because 1. this mower pushes easily and, 2. I've never had it before. I had to remind myself to let the EGO do the heavy lifting! With the dual batteries and the rapid charger I found that I had plenty of power for the job. When the red light indicated my battery was getting tired, I'd pop that one out and the charger had already put a full charge on the battery it was working on. Trade the batteries out and keep right on mowing! It's the perfect set up! I now understand why our son is so crazy about his EGO Power+ LM2102SP-A and I'm very glad I had sense enough to listen to him and get the exact same mower. It's a wonderful machine.

Excellent mower with fast delivery and great support
I ordered the EGO POWER+ LM2134SP-2 and was pleasantly surprised by how quickly it arrived. The packaging was secure, and setup was very simple. Right from the first use, I could tell this mower was a big upgrade from my old gas model. It’s much quieter, easier to maneuver with the Touch Drive, and the Select Cut system leaves the lawn looking very clean and even. The dual 56V 6.0Ah batteries are impressive—I can mow my entire yard on a single charge without worrying about running out of power, and the rapid charger makes recharging quick and convenient. The mower also folds down easily for storage, which is a nice bonus in my garage. I did run into a small issue, but Amazon’s customer service handled it exceptionally well. They were responsive, patient, and resolved everything quickly, which gave me a lot of confidence in both the product and the seller. Overall, this mower has exceeded my expectations. It’s powerful, reliable, and convenient, and combined with Amazon’s excellent support, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. Highly recommended!

Love the dual 6Ah battery model!
This is my second mower of this exact same model. The first one I bought at HD around 5 years ago, it was the single 7.5Ah battery version. It was great until the battery started acting up and became unreliable. So, do I spend $300+ on a replacement battery? Buy an off-brand battery? I decided to sell my lawnmower and 7.5Ah battery and use that money towards the purchase of this new model. The problem with these electric mowers is definitely the batteries. Dozens of 18650 cells chained together to make these large packs. If one cell goes bad, it causes an issue for the whole pack. We need to transition to solid state batteries or something better, but until then, we're stuck with this technology. But aside all that, this specific model on Amazon had two 6Ah batteries included for roughly the same price I paid for my first mower. Why is this important? Because now I don't have to run down a single battery to 10% charge, potentially causing extra degradation. I can use two batteries, run each down to around 40-50%, and that way they are stored at a safe level until next time I'm mowing. I'm hoping by keeping care of the batteries better they will last longer. We'll see. What I wish eGO would do is never sell a single battery model configuration and only sell dual battery models. Instruct the customer to rotate batteries during mowing to ensure never running them too low. Also sell battery configurations for different sized lawns, for example two 2.5Ah batteries up to 3,000 sqft or two 6Ah batteries up to 7,500sqft that way the homeowner can buy the correct battery configuration based on the size of their lawn. For my lawn, the two 6Ah batteries comfortably gets me through 7,500sqft bermuda. Now the mower. It's definitely my favorite mower of all time. I'm done with gas mowers, they are too loud and I'm not interested in the maintenance/winterization. The mower is lightweight, easy to maneuver, and the self-propelling feature is very good. The power seems to be pretty good as well, not sure if it's as powerful as my old Honda mower, but it's close enough and I'm not noticing much of a difference. When grass gets high or dense, it will ramp up power to push through. Just make sure you use the correct blade configuration. Read the manual and watch YouTube videos on how to do maintenance. One thing I will say is the blades are somewhat soft, I seem to have to sharpen them about every 3-4 mows to keep them razor sharp. Seems to be consistence experience even with my old mower and blades. That's the only negative really. I highly recommend getting a dual battery model for longevity purposes. If you can get it on sale then you're getting great value.

Good mower with level-set expectations
This first paragraph is for context on our use case and situation. I have the mower that arrived with two 4Ah batteries. We live on about 1/3rd acre with our house centered, a paved driveway, patio, deck, and a shed. Grass grows on most of our lawn, some areas very thick and fast, other areas almost none at all. We do have trees and shrubs trimming the house. The mower replaced a 6.5hp gas-powered yamaha. Overall I really like the EGO. I purchased it last year and wanted to give it a full 1 year of seasons to better gauge how it works. In fact, I liked it enough that I also bought an EGO weed eater and hedge trimmer. However I still only have the two 4Ah batteries. This spring I was able to weed eat and trim the hedges for my whole yard, and mow the full back yard and about 1/3rd of the front yard on the first battery. The second battery only lost one bar finishing the front yard. So for our purposes, the two batteries work really well. I use the self-propelled function almost exclusively on the mower. It pushes fine within the self-propelled wheels, but I like the ease. That said, I have noticed the mower consumes a noticeable amount more power with the wheels engaged than without. That isn't necessarily bad or unexepected, just noticeable. I also noticed that when the battery is nearly fully empty, the mower did seem to lose power. I would not have noticed; however when swapping to the fully charged battery I noticed how much power it seemed to lose with the battery drain. The other notable item to me is that the nearly drained battery was about 75% charged in the time it took me to complete mowing the front yard. For us, two 4Ah batteries are sufficient and I am glad with that choice. My one pain point this spring is that the thicker patches of grass did cause the mower to stop a couple times. To be fair, I was mowing at the second to lowest height setting and I mulch the cut grass so there is no discharge. Comparably, my gass mower was only used as a discharge and struggled through spring mowing much worse. I will likely stick with the mulching setup, but will definitely be raising the mower blade to a higher setting which sould help in those thick patches. Overall I am sticking with a four star review as I did expect the power boost setting to kick in more in the really thick grass sections. In my front yard, these spots are more of a straight shot and is a gradual shift from thinner to thicker grass. The power boost works well in this space. The back yard has more flash cutovers from low to thick and long grass sections which seems to give the power boost a challenge.

No Regrets Changing to Electric Mower
Great electric mower. Quiet enough so no need for ear protection. Batteries last about a half hour, but also charge in a half hour or so. With two batteries can mow continuously except when stopping for battery change. Nice adjustable speed control. Easy to start. Folds up nicely to take up less space. Did fine with grass higher than 5 inches. Great change from my old self propelled gas mower which was heavier and louder. My lawn is under a half acre.

Excellent Buy!
Wow, what a mower! Super easy to start and use and cuts great! I can cut my entire back yard on one battery. Starts every time, so I dont have to wait until restarting like my gas mower. Excellent propelling motion even on uneven ground. My ONLY problem is that Im 68 and use a cane, so I wish it had just one slower speed, but I can handle the lowest with little struggle. Not super quiet, but quieter than the gas mower so I can use it early in the morning or later in the evening when it's cooler.

Two Months In: An honest and critical review
There are some key differences between an electric mower and a gas mower that people should be aware of. I'll stick to this mower (and batteries/charger) specifically, but I'll get into some electric lawnmower generalities as well. First off, having an electrically-propelled blade is a huge benefit. A gas mower will only spin the blade as fast as the motor itself (unless pulleys are involved). This mower spins the blade(s) faster, and can even detect when there's resistance from thicker/wetter grass, and give it a little boost. There are sections of my lawn that I know I'll always need to go over twice to catch all the stragglers. Less of an issue with this mower. The result is a flatter, neater, more even cut across the whole path. I assume part of this is to do with the dual blade design (I'm mulching) which is just about due for a sharpening on my mower. Getting it running took no time at all. I spent more time breaking down the cardboard than setting it up. Being able to adjust the deck height from a single lever is amazing. No more wondering or worrying about one side or one wheel being too low or high. This is a self-propelled model, and I still haven't gotten used to, or understand why, it is rear-wheel drive. Most gas mower I've used are front-wheel drive, so pivoting 180 degrees means pushing down on the handle, lifting the front wheels up, rotating on the rear wheels, then setting the fronts back down to start moving again. I've honestly never thought about it, but it makes sense. This mower pushes from the rear wheels, so turning means you have to un-press the "move forward" button (more on this later), wait and hope that the motor actually disengages from the wheels, and try to turn. If it doesn't, you have to rock it back and forth a little to... I guess get the gears to disengage, and then you can safely turn it without damaging anything. I've gotten better at timing my release so I don't catch the wheels and motor in a bad mood, but if this were simple front wheel drive, none of this would be an issue. It also sounds just like a 90's Power Wheels children's ride-on toy when engaged. Not a complaint about the performance per-say, just something I can't un-hear or un-notice. This also might come across as a nitpick, but pressing down the "go forward" button is a literal pain in my thumbs. Rather than a metal bar you pull and can easily tuck inside your grip as you grab the bar, imagine a pair of space bars, one on either side of the handle. At least for me, it's inconvenient to press these with my normal handle grip, so I have to mow the lawn with at least one thumb purposely pressed down on these buttons the whole time. I'd be tempted to hardwire these to a toggle switch or a better pressure sensor if it wouldn't void my warranty (more on this later). I have no complaints about the batteries or charger yet. If the lawn is dry and I'm not trying to do anything fancy with the lines, I can get my front and back lawn done within the life of 2 batteries. Perfect. After a week of rain, it's two batteries for back and sides, then I finish off the front once the first battery is done recharging. Normal battery smarts apply here. Don't run it all the way down (once it's blinking red, stop mowing ASAP. Don't wait until it runs out entirely). Don't try to charge a hot (freshly used) battery. The battery/charger will self-impose a little thermal time-out, but you'll be even better off if you wait an hour or two. Even with good battery habits, make sure you register everything as quickly as possible. Apparently there's a window when you cannot register any more, and seeing as how this is a newer product with high-usage batteries, there's a lot that could go wrong. The mower body and mechanics themselves are great. No worries about the composite plastic shell, the handle is comfortable (buttons nonwithstanding). There's a little green light up by the handle that's supposed to show the battery state and health, but I've never seen it do anything but show full green. Not sure what the deal is there. I wish there were more customization options. Just a way to interface with the mower's electronics and maybe fine-tune the blade speed or min/max forward speed. I want some gauges and buttons! All in all, it's a fantastic mower. The electric motor for the blade is a huge upgrade. If it were front-wheel drive, I'd be singing its praises. Maybe that'll be the next model. The other flaw/benefit/depends on how you see it is my neighbors always complaining that it must either be really underpowered or not have a lot of battery life. When I say that neither is an issue and that it cuts better than my old gas powered Husqvarna, they just say "I dunno" and wander off. It's a spinning blade, and a faster spinning blade is always better.

Was 3 star, then 2 now 1: ok mower bad instructions, bad customer support, zero Amazon support
TL:DR. Terrible instructions. Amazon support isn’t really at thing. EGO support is difficult to access and inflexible. I do like the mower. * do not buy this kind of thing from Amazon, they are not equipped to support it. You are on your own. They can process returns and that’s about it. * if you buy from someone else realize a brick and mortar extended warranty only covers what the manufacturer SAYS they don’t do. The fact they don’t do anything won’t help you in most cases. * if you buy an EGO product you MUST register at once, despite the likely illegality of this policy. They will NOT honor the warranty without registration. * if you need product support from EGO understand they will not answer emails. That’s a placebo account just to keep you busy. Also understand the wait time on the phones will be hours… like maybe you get a call tomorrow, or maybe in an hour or two. * I like the mower. Bought it because I like a chainsaw with the a compatible battery. * feels like the legal department and finance teams have run amok at EGO THE MOWER This is a good machine. However the instructions and safety controls were designed by lawyers, not industrial engineers. Based on the thoughtful design of their chainsaw, I expected a much better mower. It cuts grass very well I used it to clear a badly overgrown area. It muscled through without complaining. The side chute plugged frequently but that was the natural result of wading through foot tall grass. It also ate thick thistles and shrugged off sticks hidden in the grass. So, as a lawnmower it is quite good and I was initially happy to overlook glaring flaws in the controls, the customer support website, the customer support phone service and the printed directions. Value for money is ok, maybe even good. A common complaint about this mower is that the wheels turn but the blade doesn’t. This is caused by engaging the safety features in the wrong sequence. The correct sequence is found on page 28 of the instructions but it doesn’t say you MUST do it in that way, and how many folks get to page 28? The sequence requires some awkward movements and clearly was dominated ONLY by product liability concerns. Usability wasn’t a factor. So the machine and the instructions show the same imbalances. What’s interesting it the contrast with their chainsaw. This is a really well designed product. Far better features than my electric Milwaukee pole saw. Intuitively set up for both safety and ease of use. I expected the mower to have this same balanced design. But… The sequence is NOT in the troubleshooting section. Instead it tells you to re-torque the blade bolt if the blade is not spinning. So the common problem is omitted and the rare one is listed. THE WARRANTY AND EGO PRODUCT SUPPORT The fast charger and one of the two batteries failed. A saga has unfolded. The Ego website requires you to set up an account to access their FAQ type help and the user groups. Hard to do sitting outside on your mobile. THEY ALSO REFUSE TO HONOR THEIR WARRANTIES UNLESS YOU REGISTER EACH MACHINE. THIS IS A DIRECT CONTRADICTION OF THEIR WRITTEN WARRANTY STATEMENTS. IT PROBABLY VIOLATES US FTC CONSUMER PROTECTION LAWS. Funny, you’d think a company all lawyered up on product liability would have good legal advice on warranty issues. The toll free number wait time turned out to be 16 hours. Not a typo hours, not minutes. Best time so far, an hour. But be aware, the published hours are only to get the phone answered… maybe. Supervisors don’t work these hours and the first level support staff has limited authority outside the canned scripts. After many weeks of waiting, supposedly they have shipped replacements. I’m not surprised but I was close to giving up and just disputing the charge. AMAZON SERVICE You get Amazon service for 90 days on this. But all that means is you have 30 days to get a return shipping label, and another 60 days to be given contact information to get to EGO. You can get this same information in less than a minute from the EGO website. Wasting 15 minutes with Amazon is what you get in the 60 days. Also, Amazon promised to escalate within their customer service department and I was told I’d be contacted promptly. That follow-up never happened.
